Yet some of us have Vipers that beat the 800's without boost. If it was electronics, drive train, all would be slow. Our red Viper with only clutch and air box mod runs even up with our buddies 800 Doo's. And it seems the biggest issues are with the LE models, and not ever have worked on one I cannot say why.

That sno x track on the le must have a lot of rotating mass that is killing its performance? But than you would think the mountain versions would have problem.

Pulls like a freight train to 85 where I run out of balls or space in the high country. Not sure final top speed.

Yep, NOS-PRO has my old 153 track with 2.25 paddles and at Grand Mesa I ran 75+ through the narrow windy road and they had there helmets off by the time I caught up....lol.

Would your dealer allow you to switch ECU with his demo for a test? I doubt that is it but why not test?

show me the 800's you beat and I will show you someone who doesnt know how to set up their 800... altitude or not, hell or high water, or any other cliche statement you can think of... a 135hp sled cannot compete with a 160hp sled, if they are set up right.

Curtis, two rtx le's here that can't break 84 mph. Talked to yamaha and they said they will not do anything about top speed issues. I got smoked by a 2001 Polaris 600 with 6000 miles on it, maybe the Polaris was broken in better. Anyways, he bought the Polaris used for one thousand dollars, just a little embarrassing. The sled handles awesome and the ergos are great but......... You know.

Yes I was smoked by an xc600 about a week ago and I owned a few of them I would bet my xc500sp would beat it to. But it was a hell of a fast 500 though. I did see 93 mph stock a few times but not since clutching and exhaust done. I have to find someone around here who can set this thing up. Yes This is my first Yamaha in over 20 years and I not to impressed with costumer service. Other than that I really like the machine. Your right very embarrassing I'm stuck on what else to do. Don't want to pour more money into it In case I can't get it the way I want it and trade it in. I'm hoping someone finds out where the power is goin.

I don't see a Viper listed in your signature so I assume you are another Nytro owner bashing a sled that is so superior to a Nytro you wanna cry... I said in my post mine is modified with air box mod and clutch mod did you read that or need help?
I sold my 2014 M8 when my blue Viper with air box mod, clutch mod and can beat it, the M8 being box stock of course. You don't have to believe me as mine isn't the only one. And you don't have to let jealousy rule your life, buy a Viper and be happy.

No I am not a unhappy nytro owner, i like it for the needs I have in a sled, it gets me from a to b safely every time, can't complain about that. I am also a realist. In our world of science and math, the numbers and physics are not in favor for any snowmobile that weighs more and has less power than the next.
Yes I don't doubt your story about beating your old m8, your track burnouts, clutching on the cheap, super-duper airbox mod with reversed fan power, radiator delete, and being able to dangle on both sides of the skis from sun up to sun down, and all the other cheerleading you have done for the viper on the forums. And for that you are awesome.
I will say it this way, if heavier sled with 135-145 n/a hp can beat a lighter sled with 145-170+ n/a hp in all around riding, why isn't every person running to their dealer to buy one? Why is it that most people, except for you of course, that are used to 800 class power needing to turbo their sleds to get the same feel as they are used to?
