Yamaha Rules..but sure could use some help on good bushings

embden-
What I ment about the world starting to sux is that there is alot of B.S. going on and snowmobiling is something we are suppose to be able to have fun with. It's no fun to have people tell you that you own $10,000 peice of junk.Sorry if I came off sounding like a a=s but I would rather see solutions on here along with the bitching we all do in one way or another.I hope you get your new bushing and are happier, noone wants to see a unhappy YAMAHA owner.

Hey spec, do you have the bushing sets in stock yet for my apex? I was on your site last night and thought I saw them back ordered.
Also, how much longer should I expect to get out of your oilite bushing verses my stock bushings.
Thanks,
Rick.

ps.. Cheer up sled.

I replaced my bushings at 5000mi and installed grease zirks, and at 9300mi. the arms are as tight as new. The grease pushes out the moisture and dirt.

Is it just me or is the lower bolt in the pic Apex002 bent? Sorry but it just jumped out at me. I like the grease fittings I just wish you didn't have to fill the entire cross tube with grease, oh well, better than the alternative.

I think there too many people that want perfection for free or just expect.... there is no such thing... if there is a human that build and design the product, it WILL have flaws and there will be errors.

Everything takes time to perfect and even then it wont be perfect. Lifes to fricken short to sit and complain and complain....and I get tired of listening to it over and over and it can wear on the positives of anything and make every one feel negative.... and if thats what Totallyamaha is coming too, maybe I should just close her down .... as that is too depressing to me.

Something everybody needs to keep in mind. Webmaster burn out and walking away is a real thing that I have seen with my own eyes.

On another popular snowmobile forum, Rob was so disgusted it was making him sick and he dumped it. On my 52K member car forum, the first owner walked away, the second owners walked away in disgust, the 3 rd owner would just shut it down for a few days when he had enough and he recently sold it.

This is something I strongly urge you to keep in mind when you post up.

Let's not make it come to that it would be a big loss for all of us and future YAMAHA owners. This site rocks so lets keep it a positive site with issues brought to everyones attention so there is a better chance of getting a solution.

T.Y is one of the bright spots of my day and I appreciate your work Tom and moderators.

I for one want to thank Tom for running one of the best forums I've ever been to...

I think there's a fine balance between sharing info....sharing feelings of good and bad...it's a priveledge to be able to use the forum and one should do so with care...

I agree with the core of his content..just venting in the wrong place...his digust should be directed to Yamaha customer service..

i feel youre pain, dont give up,it is getting on my nerves big time with all the negative posts,i cant even imagine starting to complain on this site,i would be ashamed

you guys might think I'm(were) crazy ,but just like Berg, about 2000 miles ago,I put grease fittings all over 4 inner a arm,4 outer a arm and I popped 2 more in each knuckle.I really think it made a difference,I just took it a part to straiten a knuckle, and so far the ones I see, don't look to bad at all.I'm going to reuse(oem) them. 4100 hard miles on it..but when I put the knuckle in the press, :o| crack, that's another thread..thanks T for the site

Everyone wants a light weight sled, and when they break, they want a more weight added.. LOL

Plastic is light, probobly why they used it..

I reassembled my sleds bushing and added Grease zerts to everything and greased all the plastic bushings, THey last twice as long now..

~!!

I really feel like a dirtbag for posting a negative forum.... I want to apologize again for getting on a bunch of nerves. I have been a motorsport enthusiast all my life. Snowmobiles, Motocross Racing, Jet Skiing, and Steetbike riding are all hobbies that I have been fortunate enought to take part in almost on a daily basis. I have always done all my own maintenance and repairs. I certainly expect to replace a few worn out parts here or there but I sincerely believe that these plastic bushings are a design flaw. It does not save weight, it does not save a great deal of money, I do agree that it keeps the dealers in business. If Yamaha does not provide grease fittings to maintain these moving parts, at the very least they should be brass or bronze... period. Yamaha provides a maintenance schedule for 2500, and 5000mile periods. If I new these moving parts were all lined with plastic bushings I too probably would have loaded up the front end with grease fittings. I have always been very hard on all my motorsport toys. Many have failed me. After you take something apart that failed its great to understand what went wrong and learn from it. I just thinkg that this problem I had occured to soon. Trust me........ if i had 8000-10000 miles on my apex and took it apart to find out that the front end was worn out I would not have posted a negative forum. So I hope that some guys with new Yamaha's got something out of this..... install some grease fittings and get some longevity out of your front end!!!! I too am really proud of this site... way to go guys! :rocks:

Mr Sled it's sad that some come here to vent. Some may take it for granted that you and the rest of the moderators put so much work and effort into making this site one of a kind. The advise and knowledge on here is second to none. Keep up the great work. Thank You. :rocks:
