Alright guys. I have to say....I have owned literally every single brand of snowmobile out there and there is no question in my mind that Yamaha has the game cornered. I currently ride a Cat F6 which, in its own right, is a very good and capable sled. However, if you look at yam's stuff, it simply blows everything away.
All you have to look at are the engines. Yamaha's 4 stroke engines are truly world class competitive with anything out there. None of the other manufacturers 4 stroke engines come ANYWHERE near what yam is doing. It is like comparing a lawnmower engine to a corvette.
And best of all....Yamaha has not given up on their quality and reliability to deliver this. I'm sure that the engineers and business managers have lost a lot of sleep trying to determine if loosing that last 20 lbs at the sacrifice of reliability and quality is worth it. THANK YOU for sticking to your guns here. With sleds pricing out at $10K now.....nobody can afford or stand to buy something that breaks down.
The cherry on top is that the suspensions are coming around to world class level. 16" on phazer, 14.5" on Nytro and they still retain that "fun" factor that is sometimes lost with long suspension cushy sleds.
I rode the new Phazer a lot this winter and it blew my mind right out of the gate. Though I personally like more power....this sled hits the sweet spot for what it is designed to do and blew my mind on the amount of power it actually did have....especially on the bottom. I got a chance to ride the FX Nytro and it was a sled that I can say truly blew away all of my expectations of what a sled should be. Still on the fence about paying $10K-$11K for a machine that I can only ride 3 months/year....but if I do, there is absolutely no question that this will be the ride.

I'm thinking I agree with you. I'm going to wait and see how the chassis on the FX Nytro holds up to jumping and roll overs (HA HA).

While I do agree the Nytro simply looks awesome - I dont like the looks of it....I dont know...the looks of the Mountain Vector SE is more appealing to me...just like the shape better I guess I'd have to say I may go for an Apex next year - still on the fence about doing that or boosting my vector..

Are you going to ride it or look at it?OneLunG said:While I do agree the Nytro simply looks awesome - I dont like the looks of it....I dont know...the looks of the Mountain Vector SE is more appealing to me...just like the shape better I guess I'd have to say I may go for an Apex next year - still on the fence about doing that or boosting my vector..
Just kidding: Thought the same thing about the Phazer and now it's my favorite sled to ride. Missed the opportunity to ride the new Nytro and my wallet is thanking me.

Yes......I agree with the topic and often wonder what newbies comming to this site think of all the complaining ?
I don't care if you're a Doo, Cat, Pol or Yammie freek..... the people who Frequently spend alot of time and post to these forums are Hard Riding, Hardcore sledders who will have more issues and problems than the Joe Average snowmobiler. This rather small group will also, demand more and be more Vocal when issues develop. If 1000 XYZ model sleds were sold and only 10 of the owners Frequent a forum such as this and, 5 of those have the same issue then it looks like the problem is much larger ?

Great post ccrider,
Just to reaffirm your statement about Yamaha Motors; they are absolutely bullet proof.
Yesterday, me and my 05 RS Venture surpassed 20,000 miles in three seasons of riding.
In Northern Maine, motor dependability, and reliabilty is what I have been looking for. I found it with Yamaha.
In addition, My brother, a former 05 Mach Z pilot, will roll 6,000 miles on his 06 Attak, in a day or two, in just two seasons.
It's amazing what Yamaha has brought to the industry!
I agree, they are "best in the business period"!
