Really been researching threads on here and have tried many suggested adjustments with some improvements for sure but still not where I want it. Some background first; I'm a large guy (250lbs w/gear) and ride 99% groomed trails. My steering is very heavy and tight (pushy) at slower speeds (under 35mph) and a bit twitchy and unpredictable at higher speeds (45mph and above). I've made front & rear suspension adjustments, limiter strap adjusments, and sway bar adjustments. Some of these made small improvements but some didn't and it's certainly not where I think it could be.
My first question is would new skis make enough improvement to warrant the $300-$400 investment? Will they make the steering effort less on groomed trails but maintain a safe level of predictability?
Second question, has anyone tried the Tuner skis? I know there are tons of aftermarket skis out there like c&a's etc etc that may be top of the line but will the Tuner skis perform well? I ask because they are 1/2 the price of others and typically I'm a guy that believes you get what you pay for; however, I've been reading many good reviews on the Tuner skis manufactured specifically to help cure the late model fourstroke steering wows.
Any help feedback would be appreciated...You all have helped me "big-time" in the past...

Just to add. Price for Tuner skis with round bar & 2" carbide outside rail and just round bar inside rail comes to under $300 for the pair.

I have a set on my 2010 just got it, and it handles very well. It handles better than the 07 phazer I had.

I have a set of tuner skis on my '08 RTX. The steering is very light. Not darting at all. It does push some in the corners when I ride it real hard. But then again, my limiter strap is all the way out. So I could easily pull that up one hole to add a little ski pressure - which should take care of the slight push.
I was running a 4/2" combination on the carbides, which I believe is a bit light. I'm now going to run a 4/4" combination. One suggestion though ... don't use the stock Yamaha carbides. They may perform good, but they wear out very fast. They shorter carbide lengths have a smaller diameter rod. And none of them have any hard wear pads. So the rods with carbide on them have just only that. I wore through a set of Yamaha carbides in only 200 miles. Granted, it was crappy conditions. But I would expect them to last longer than that.
Overall, I'm very pleased with them. I'm simply going to change out for more carbide from a better manufacture, and add a bit more ski pressure.

This is great info guys. Thanks so much. Sounds like I'll give them a shot with aftermarket carbides.

tuner skis
not to sway any decisions either way, i just tried a set of the tuner skis on my 08 and cant stand them, steering effort is minimal, but so is steering, i went with the 4" inside 2" outside, but on anything above 20mph they just push, groomed trail/powder whatever. bolted the old ski back on after 30 miles of horrible ride. granted they go straight...but thats it..no steering. oh well..got 9,500 miles on the old skis, might as well live with them..
