09 Nytro RTX SE
I know this has been asked quite often, but I have an 09 nytro rtx se and i'm trying to find where I can buy the tuner skis at the best price and a trustworthy company or site. I believe there are 2 different models of them as well? If so, which one goes with the nytro. If you're using the tuner skis, what size carbides are you running and brand? Thanks for the help.

The best place to get them considering your criteria above is probably the dealer. If you are comfortable buying used, you will probably get a better deal. I have heard that the new Tuners (2015 version) fell short of expectations. This viper link discusses them:

Wrt carbides it will all depend on sled configuration (studs/no studs) and what you are looking for (grip or comfort). If you go to yamaha's accessory catalogue and look at the tuners they have a chart with carbide sizes and effects. One thing that everyone seems to agree on is to stay away from yamaha carbides as they don't appear to last. I went with woody's on mine. Here is a thread (and there are many others) with configurations others are running...

Heads up. The Tuner on the 2015's is a different ski than previous productions. Not only is the newer ski a bit thinner, I am told the skis are different where the bolt goes through to fasten the spindle. The first version of the tuner was designed more for the nytro and now the design is geared for the viper. Spoke to a guy from Yamaha Canada that explained the change. I would speak with your dealer to make sure you get the right one.

Go to a dealer and pickup a set they are a inexpensive ski and it will save on shipping. Definitely go with the Woodies carbides for the Yamaha tuner skis. I switched to Woodies and they are much better then the Yamaha version and about the same price. My dealer carries the Woodies version in stock.

Port Yamaha is hands down the best place to buy these ski's! They will actually take time and talk to you about what you are trying to set up your sled for and make suggestions. Not to mention they have the best price on Tuners that I found by far including shipping.:sled1:

'09 RTX, I use 4 " in/out & have no problems with corner handling or darting.
