While sitting on my XTX waiting for "SNOW",I noticed that the hand guards appeared to be wrong. If you leave the brkts. where they are,& switch the plastic guards, there appears to be more hand room & better wind protection.??????????

I know these are "upsidedown" that's the way I say they give better protection.By the way those "venture mirrors" work great there.Yamadooed said:Upsidedown it was prolly the same person that put the wrong venture mirrors on...

I think this is the "Canadian" install. It's perfectly normal north of the 48.

I don't know if it would make a difference as they are pretty small anyway you look at it.

This has got nothing to do with Yamaha putting them on upside down, because they are not on when the sled is in the crate. This is your dealer putting them on upside down.

Go to the Yammi website and look in one of the galleries. It won't take long to switch 'em!

So you want to know if upside down handquards provide any more wind protection than if they were installed correctly, right?
I did a wind tunnel test this morning and it made very little difference. Actually, the only benefit of running them upside down is you will get more stares on the trail as people look at your sled and go WTF!! His handguards are upside down.
As for the 48th comment, I'm pretty sure it's refered to as the 49th, and last time I checked, we kicked your azz over it!! lol

I get it. You forget we're Canuck.
The only thing we understand is North of the 49th, & North of 60 (Classic CBC television!!)
Seriously - T'cona - try it out, maybe it'll work for you.
