I bought the complete rebuild with dual rate spring and remote clicker. I am not sure what that is called.
My problem was G Bumps on groomed trails. If you are pounding through large sno-cross style moguls, that is a different kind of problem.
Good luck!

I also had my shock redone by HyGear. 4000miles last season and even with Big Boy spring it was still bottoming.
Now at 5000 miles, think I finally have it dialed in. Very little bottoming and excellent on the stutters. Expensive, but worth the money if you ride alot.
Thanks, HyGear!

If you have an 06, just heat up the grip and rotate it. If there are rivets, you can remove them and re-rivet. Mine has 5000 miles on it and is running great.
Have you considered just flipping the throttle around and having her use her fingers? Most hands have longer fingers than thumbs and you can pull with either or one, two or three fingers!
Works great for me for 40 years!
Just my two cents...

How about a poll for this thread?
I re-verted to 06 bars this past week before a 500 mile loop in Quebec and was amazed by the results! Max at four bars. No problems.
So how about a poll?
Did you try this fix?
Has it worked?
How many miles?
Attaks don't have the problem because the tunnel has bracing. Both years.
Mine has over 4000 miles and has bottomed out dozens of times very hard with no buckling.
You can get a brace from Yamaha for 06 Apex.

My buddy got to ride his 06 Apex GT last week for the first time and his tunnel is bent.
I have seen discussion about a kit to strengthen that area.
Does anyone have a part # or supplier?
Thanks..

Sounds like driver error...
I know a guy who was moving his sled at a gas station, motor running, helmet on the seat, and when he pulled the skis, throttle hit the helmet and the sled took off and ripped off the hose!
There are all kinds of knuckleheads!!
I just have had great luck...
Just thought I would ressurect this thread....
I installed the latest HyGear dual rate w/remote reservoir shock a few weeks ago and just got to test it last week.
I had installed a Big Boy Apex spring on my Attak last winter and found it to be good about 90% of the time, but the G bumps...
The cover is the standard Apex/Attak handlebar pad (before they put the YAMAHA logo on there).
The custom work was only about $70. I supplied the velcro.
BTW - test ride finally in Quebec this week and it was perfect. Clear screen, no vibration and 276 worked perfect on a day where the...
more shots of 276 on Attak
Here are a few more shots. I will be unzipping and removing the pad and bringing the whole thing into the motel at night.
Power comes from the 12v outlet and there is a battery in the unit that will power it when the sled is shut off.
Where is the...
Guys - I have an extra big boy spring from an Apex that I used on my Attak last year if anyone is interested.
I installed a HyGear upgrade (haven't tried it yet) and I don't need this spring.

GPS map
I just downloaded this today for my Garmin 276C. Looks pretty good and covers all main trails in Quebec... Now looking into overlaying Topo Canada.
Yes, the carbide is more to the rear.
I found it to steer a little harder, but the increased bite was huge.
I installed the heavier sway bar because there was more inside ski lift with the increased ski bite.
