i know of some dealers that buy new sleds that were damaged....they goto auctions and buy the brand new sleds with a little damage i.e. dented hood, gas tank, front suspension......they buy it for 40%-50% cheaper then fix it and sell at thier msrp.its hard for you to know this too.
welterracer.................................i have to disagree with you on one comment you made......................i raced my friends zr900 and won a few times..........
i'm not gonna race it all the time , in fact 95% of my riding is in the trails, however i would like to compensate for my size, ...off the line is fine i did notice the mid range isn't as good as it could be.
it seems to me that everyone has worked thier rx1 either a little or a lot. one of my main reasons for buying this sled was the fact that i didnt have to mod it. now after hearing alot of guys talk about the ecp kit and so forth, i'm tempted to do that. if i didnt want to do the ecp kit what...
Oh yeh, the race.
I talked with a couple gentelmen on the trail. One had an 05 RX1. One had a Rev, probably an 800. The Rev pulled right away. By the way Buddah, the Rev rider probably outweighed the skinny RX rider by 50#.
ok...........we know its not the fastest stock sled, however i...
muzzy.......................thanks for the advice, however i think i'll let my dealer do that, for the $30 they charge it's worth it.....................
hebi.....................ok maybe 500 lbs is a little lite, however not unrealistic.in time yamaha will produce something that will haul more #*$&@ then whats offered today,it will be a 4 stroke, lighter, just as reliable, and handle like a slot car and have even further adjustable rate...
as far as the speedometer goes, there pretty accurate this year. i dont think you're gonna see 130's on speedo this year. i had runnin 112 and still going.....i backed off....i was on a road. anyway speedo was the same as zr900.
hebi..............i disagree with you.........first off i haven't driven the vector so i can't comment on that, however i will say that while driving my rx1 , i have absolutely no problems staying with a firecat, or anyother sled out there. even when the trails starting getting bad i was right...
at -40 would a motor actually run better???.....i can understand at 0 or -5 but would -40 be a little to much............im talking farenheight ...........just wondering
is doing this the same as having my dealer setting up the rear suspension for my weight..............with gear im 300 lbs or more. when i rode my sled i only bottomed on harsh bi bumps, other then that i was fine.
