Wiring for a helmet face shield.

For those of you who have wired for a helmet face shield, did any of you wire directly to the battery, and if so did you put in an inline fuse? Also what size fuse did you use? I appreciate any information you can give me. Thanks.

    Pilot Skis ???????????

kotapug. They are listed for $239.99 U.S. in the 08 Ski-doo accessory catalog. It is the Pilot 5.7 upgrade kit and gives you everything you need for the Apex. The stopper is the right one and does not need to be trimmed as some have suggested. I just put 300 miles on my Apex with them and it...

    APEX RTX Skis ?????????????

I just recently put on Pilot 5.7 ski's on my 06 Apex ER and have about 300 miles on them and really like them. The steering feels very light, yet grips the trail well. What I did is order the Pilot 5.7 upgrade kit which is in the 08 Ski-Doo parts and accessory catalog, page # 73. The kit lists...

    attak vs fst in amsnow

Interesting on the weight issue because Maximum Sled weighed all the sleds as we would ride them with all fluids full and the FST was much heavier than the Apex, and the Attack isn't much heavier than the Apex. I really do not think that Amsnow has a history of being real accurate myself.

HYFAX and SLP wear Pads !!

Machzed what track are you running?

    1000 Cat

I think the way that Maxsled weighed the sleds has been by far the fairest yet as they were all full of liquids and fuel. Actually I thought Yamaha looked good considering the four stroke disadvantage in weight.

    SKI DOO Wheel Part#

If you start out with new hyfax and let it wear down to where the wheels allow how can this be different from a stock set-up where the hyfax wears down further to where the stock wheels allow? They are both running on hyfax as well as the idler wheels. How in this senario will you have more...

Actually Tork I believe it was your post some time ago that made me consider this so thank-you.

    SKI DOO Wheel Part#

When I put the Ski-Doo wheels and anti-wear pads on, I also put new hifax on which should eliminate any problems as the original wheels would wear the hyfax down about 1/4 " rather fast anyway.

    SKI DOO Wheel Part#

I put the Ski-Doo wheels on all six idlers, and added the SLP Anti-wear pads as well. I rode about 90 miles the other day and found that my sled had much less resistance. The proof of this was very apparant as my r.p.m.'s before would peak at 10,300 to 10,500 and now it ran up to 11,100. I will...

    medium windsheild ?

I have the mid height as shown in the accessory catalog and they are as ceaze1cars says. They look decent and give much better wind protection than the stock windshields.

Good artical in Snowest about Yamahas and Slide wear..

When putting over size wheels on make sure you replace the hyfax They will wear down as far as the wheels will allow and should not put any additional pressure on the rails. I am considering the SLP anti-wear pads as well.

my opinion on why some hit tunnel and some dont

I would think that the riders that have the tracks on the tight side probably have more of a chance of track rub. Also the Attaks have protection on either side of the shock which eliminates or at least reduces the track rub. I have decided to get Umlors track rub kit which should eliminate this...

Things to keep in mind when studding

I have been studding sleds for years as well and I agree with Swiss Sledder on this one.

All of this talk about gas mileage - what is normal?

I get between 14 and 17 on my Apex. My 03 RX-1 gets 17 to 19 m.p.g. but has 7500 + miles on it. Should see slight improvement on the Apex as the miles increase.
