By memory here goes. 1) Run the engine till warm. Drain block and oil tank. 2) Remove air box 3) Remove battery 4) Remove battery box, and computer from front of battery box. Just lay computer towards front of sled. 5) When you remove the battery box try and remember the way it came out...

Need to hook up helmut plug on 06 Apex. Need to know where to get the power. Also there was a post on the 06 Handle Bar Change over. I think Mr Sled posted it with pictures. I have tried to do a search without luck. Can anyone post the link. THANKS

Definately do not let it sit with dirty oil. Dirty oil has acids in it and will pit the bearings. Store only with fresh oil.

What does the 23 top gear do??? I assume stronger bottom end and less top speed ??? How much stronger and how much off the top end ???

Interesting you talk about cutting the dipstick for venting. The service manager I spoke of thought that venting would be the solution. Has anyone ever done this and does it cause oil to come out the dipstick ???

I was thinking of getting an 06 or 07 Apex. I have read on this site about chain cases blowing apart. How big a problem is this. Just stopped at my dealer and spoke with the service manager. He said he has had about 10 chain cases blow apart one of which also took out the oil tank...

I have an 04 RX1 wtih 9,500 miles, and it uses about 1 quart in 1000 miles. Just had a leak down test and it was 5% across all cylinders one was at 6%. So other that putting in a little oil all is well.

Your right a very cool sled. Went to a sled show in Winnipeg and they had the new Rev on a scale. The best Yamaha can do is ESTIMATE WEIGHT. Don't get me wrong I would buy the Yamaha any day over the Rev but wouldn't it be nice to see Yamaha be honest with everyone about the weight. I'm sure...

Got to love this estimated dry weight. I guess Yamaha Corporation can't afford a scale.
