Mine did not come with a tool kit. I had to dig for a long time to find a metric allen to work to get it open i have to see if the tooless screws work on that side
I agree with that. Mine wore till about 1/16 of the wear line in about 30 miles and haven't moved since. I am going to put in some low snow wheels just after the bend before the bogies.
how tight is the track. Mine burned up fast when I was ripping around the pasture with no snow. The track should be as loose as you can get it without slipping in the deep snow.
I am looking at getting the cold weater start ecu for my 07 bare model that has been converted over to a 144 track. I saw on the OEM catalogs that the MTN Lite has a different computer than all the other models. I was wondering what the difference was and would it be in my best interest to...
Took mine out for the first time yesterday. Bought it last year and only put 12 miles on it... I did find out it never got the cold weather start mod so it did not want to start at 0F this morning. and who ever thought to hold the battery cover on with metric allen head speed screws is an idot.
I should put a pic of the finished product up since I started the thread. And no you can't buy stock parts and build a long track tunnel you have to have the longer side rails that the mountain sleds had but I just made my own from some dimond plate I think it turned out pretty well also...
I have not put in a new clutch but I did put a lower gear in it from Schmidt brothers. it seemed to get up pretty good but I only drove it 12 miles last year. It did seem to have alot of engine braking but I never driven a good 4 stroke snowmobile before so it might take some getting used to.
are you sure they are aluminum? mine weren't on my sled. Either way it would be a lot easier to buy them from Yamaha. Try and online company since your more than likely aren't riding now anyway on little parts they are hard to beat sometimes 30% off dealer parts.
me and the old man have the same discussion. I blip the throttle to get started. I think it helps break the surface tension between the snowmobile and the snow.
finally got the sled back together, got the anti ratchets, anti stab wheels, and replaced a lot of bolts, bushings, and wheels. I ripped it up and down the horse pasture a couple times to stretch out the new track. Now where is the snow?
