I'm not sure how much rise you will be getting from that setup, but your stock cables should be good for 2-3" more rise. Yes your stock grips and heaters are 7/8. I guess your hands freezing is dependent on your gloves and ambient temps but I took my windshield off and don't really miss it...
the mileage on the phazer actually isn't toooo bad its just the fact that yamaha put such a &*%$(* small tank on it combined with the fact that those of us who ride hard in the mountains are wide open most of the time. I have had very few rides where I have not had to fill up again and those...
yes but i belive that these boards are sturdy enough ie there is no noticeable decrease in strength. if you are really worried just do what powdermuncher did. I believe he put like 3 or so rivets around each hole.
WOW it's about time someone put up a thread like this :yam: I have had problems ie ball joints, weak suspension etc but every time I go ride my phazer I realize why I love this thing so f'ing much. Its handling and easiness to throw around makes it all worth it. Sure I could use more power but...

I'm not too sad yet as I will be riding until at least the end of april. plus i'm gonna tear my sled down and install a turbo over the summer.
I notice some belt squeal when decelerating ie wide open then let off the throttle. i dunno it doesnt make much sense to me but as long as it doesn't squeal when accelerating I don't worry too much :drink:
WOW :drink: I may be missing something here but this seems like the worst idea I've heard in a while. I've never heard of this "technique" before and would hate to try it, I guess if it works for you go for it but I'm gonna stick with my standard mix of milking the brake and engine braking. :o|
to those of you with a supertrapp superlight, how hard would it be to cut the can shorter ie is there any fancy rolled edges etc at either end? i have a chance to pick up a 23 in pipe and would like to cut it to a 16 in thanks :yam:
thanks, I have the center shock spring and torsion spring on hi to give it some semblence of bottoming resistance, and it feels like I have no compression or rebound damping. ie the spring is over powering the shock. I assume this is not a problem with the ohlins? I may go this route when I...
