I have the Curve skis as well, and on my 1st ride with them they were simply amazing in the twisties! Have had many sleds over the years and NONE of them had the precise steering that the curves had!!! The only problem was they were heavy to turn so I have been doing the opposite adjustments you...
I have the Curves and thats a smokin deal, although I hope you are a big guy cause with the 6 inch shaper bars it will be very heavy. When I ordered mine I wanted to order 6'shapers but Sean from Curve told me on the nytro you run a 4" round bar. Nothing more, nothing less!!!! Thats even if you...
The way I have done it is make sure the sled is at running temp by taking it for a short run. Put the back end on a jack stand to lift the track, and at idle you should be able to move the track forward with 2 fingers. If the track is moving on its own then the secondary is too tight. if you...
What is an acceptable amount of play in the a upper A arm bushings? With the weight off the skis there is no play pulling up and down on the uppers but I can move them forward and back about maybe .006" 09 Nytro fx with about 700 miles on it.
Thanks in advance
Most after market skis are more aggressive making it HARDER to steer!!! The difference is (with after market skis) that when you turn the bars it actually turns instead of pushing in the corner. There may be some skis that will make it turn easier but I would think it wont be as responsive. Be...
Any one try rotating their handlebars toward the back of the machine to a more true angle to the steering post? Mine came from the dealer with them way forward, Just wondering if they were pulled back it would ease up the steering a bit?
Is the sleds skis sitting on dollies? Mine is new with only 160 miles on it and when its on dollies and you push on the back end it wont come back up. I'm pretty sure I read on here that its normal when on dollies.
I copied this of my bro's post on HCS (F8) 2010.
Enjoy!!!
Took my 10 F8 out for the maiden voyage I am coming off a 06 F7 ride wise there is no comparison the ride is unbelieveable. Few concerns I have are both my feet got absolutely soaked I have never heard anyone complain about this so...
I was at my dealer on Monday and asked about what to do, he told me to cover up the venting holes inthe foot hold with aluminum or plastic and problem will be solved. I have a new 09 and had the prob 1st time out. I asked if there would be a heat issue and he said no.
I'm going on a ride...
Waited to ride this thing all summer as I bought it as a leftover in March. First ride consisted of mostly ditch running in about 12-18"of powder and a little rough trail riding.
Running the powder was a blast, even after all of a sudden it felt like I dunked my left foot into a tub of water...
I picked up a leftover FX Nytro in April. Now i"m getting it ready to go and I noticed the antifreeze overflow jug is almost completely empty. Just in case any air got in there I want to bleed it. The last thing I need, is overheating first time out. Then my two bros. will be all over me cause...
Just going over the new left over 09 Nytro I picked up in March and noticed that all the ball joints are bone dry! Shouldn't they have grease on them? I think I read somewhere that guys are greasing them every time out? Were the 09's hard on ball joints or just the 08's?
It looks like the tube connects to a nipple on the top of the foot hold. Did you leave it connected? Or did you disconnect and just leave it hanging there?
Thanks
Tom
Can any one tell me if the fuel tank overflow tube is the one that goes into the left foothold? I want to reroute it so I can pull the filler tube when filling up? If I reroute it up to the handle bars will it spew out when the tank is full and going over rough terrain?
