Congrats, I hope I can get there. I truly love the winder when it is running right. I just have had something go wrong almost every weekend I had it out this year. It has been something different every time so I am hopeful I will get it there but it isn't encouraging when basic things like...
Trashed the 1.25" Rip II on my sled last weekend, currently looking at the 1.5 with 192 or 240 studs next. Biggest thing is going to be track life after only getting 3500miles out of the 1.25" rip II. How do you have yours set up?
Does anyone know if the Rip II is available with 2-play, 1.5in lug and the run quiet bumps? I can't find anything that calls the run quiet bumps out specifically.
I still have the aluminum retainer and nut. The bolt itself broke in half and everything behind is trashed, including the guides that the axle rested on.
This weekend my yamaha 4th wheel kit came loose taking the right hand side track tensioner and center axle out with it. I was able to jury rig a fix to limp the sled home but need to replace pretty much the entire right hand side of the assembly. I am thinking about just going to the JT wheel...
I am going to be putting another few hundred miles on this weekend as well. I am swapping belts right away at the beginning of the weekend though. We will see if I can get the red-line to not slip/wear so badly. Will report on what she looks like after a hard weekend of corner to corner blasts.
Finally got my 2018 out for a full weekend and had my first (mostly) trouble free trip thanks to some (ok, maybe more than just some) help from Mr. Sled rebuilding it. Previously I had coolant leaks, continuously blown belts and studs breaking off which all killed trips. The biggest issue all...
I am another one of the ones with a former belt blower. At 59mm offset I could blow a belt in 1/2 mile every time. After setting to ~57.8mm offset the sled did 3 back to back 1 mile pulls at the end of the weekend without blowing the belt (Clutches were definitely hot at the end of that...
Some of it is me, there is still alot of stuff wrong from the guy who had it before me.... I am going to be taking it to Mr. Sled this week before my trip. We will see if we can get her together and running...
I am in Wausau right now, our trip is next week. If I can't get the clutches/studs/coolant leak/exhaust leak (Just found this one ) fixed I am going to leave the winder in the garage and ride the Poo of shame.
It wouldn't surprise me, the second belt I blew was WOT @ 8900RPM and ~115mph. I don't even want to know how hard the primary slammed shut before the rev limiters kicked in. (I did let off the throttle immediately after the loud bang the belt made blowing)
Well, I guess is there anyone in the central Wisconsin area with a clutch puller they would be willing to sell/rent/loan out? Doesn't look like anyone is open that sells one tomorrow.
I have blown 2 belts in the 500 miles I have had the sled. When I bought it, I set offset to 58 or 59mm, I don't remember which. Now after the 500 miles and 2 belts I am measuring a 64.2mm offset, after removing the circlip I am only at 63mm offset. Checking with a mirror the bolts behind the...
