Guy's, please be careful when using a different type of valve for a roll over valve. The Yamaha triple has a very high breather air flow rate that increases with RPM and engine load.
While it's true that some of the breather air flow is due to the pumping action of the pistons/blow by, the oil...
With that collar showing like that, it's almost looks like the fixed sheave is not installed on the spider correctly. Also the discoloration on the shaft would indicate excessive heat, possibly due to the belt defection being to tight or the incorrect belt being used at some point.
I agree...
You could make them longer, but I think the length of the front skid shock would probably be the limiting factor.
It would be easy to verify though by lifting/supporting the back of the sled up so that the suspension is fully extended. If the straps still have some looseness then the front shock...
I've used stainless steel rivets on the tunnel before without issues. They actually clamp down tighter and resist loosening over time better then aluminum ones. The one exception would be if you had a carbon fiber tunnel, SS rivets will crush the carbon fiber.
Stainless rivets do require more...
Most of them can be aluminum. There are 4 rivets at the front of the bumper on each side that are gold in color though. These are high strength rivets and should be replaced with the factory rivet.
You can get these from your Yamaha or Arctic Cat dealer.
You may want to borrow or pick up an air...
Yeah, to bad it wasn't that simple. Probably good thing that you checked it though. If you had taken it to the dealer and it turned out to be water in the fuel, the warranty wouldn't have covered it.
Hopefully they can get it checked out and get you up and running quickly!
Ask and you shall receive! The photos below are of a ROV installation on a King Cat. Basically it's a Viper ROV kit with some minor modifications for additional heat protection for some of the components.
Since it's based off of the Viper kit, it will include a ROVCM and the Quick Prime...
I ran naturally aspirated with a header, air box mod and EVO premium fuel reflash, so I'm able to get away with 91 octane here. Since your boosted, I'd probably run the Torco or a splash of race fuel just to be safe. I think your in the ball park shooting for 93 minimum at 6#'s though.
Yeah, how I found it is when I pulled the fuel line off at the filter the fuel spray had some water droplets in it. So then I put the fuel line in a clean empty gas can and cycled the fuel pump. From there I poured it into a clear container and you see the fuel was cloudy from water...
When mine did that, both times it was water in the fuel. At first, I thought that I was getting bad fuel however I was using the same fuel in other vehicles with no water issues.
Upon further investigation I found that my fuel tank vent hose was laying down in the bottom of the belly pan. What...
The reading will vary with as the weather changes, due to a change in barometric pressure. I've had a couple different sleds range from about 70 to 500 feet depending on what the current barometric pressure was at the time I calibrated it. Never had it be off by 2000' though.
Looking at the...
Also one thing to keep in mind on the Viper/7000, is to make sure that the key is off and not just shut down using the handle bar kill switch.
If you shut the sled down with the handle bar kill switch the gauge will power down like everything is off. However if the key is still on, there is a...
If you store the sled outside under a cover then yes I would recommend changing it once a year. Primarily to help prevent moisture build up in the oil tank.
I usually store my sleds inside a heated shop and typically will average less than a 1000 miles a year, so I was doing it every other...
If you don't mind wearing ear buds, Bose active noise cancelling ear buds work well. The active noise cancelling even cancels out most of the low frequency exhaust drone.
The draw back is they are fairly expensive at around $300
Yes, that is correct. On the Nytro and Phazers, you'll want to mount it so that the solenoid end is angled up at least 45 degrees (straight up is OK also). This helps the oil residue drain back out of the valve.
Also the valve is directional with an inlet and outlet. So it is very important to...
