Looking for insight for anyone who has some to offer.
2016 MTX 162 LE, 400 miles. Stored full of gas w/ Torco Accl. Inside, covered.
Made sure battery was fully charged, fired it up for the first time, machine idles fine, let it come up to 110 degrees F. Tried to give it a little gas and it dies. Tried this several times, tried giving very slow throttle and it still falls on it's face. I can hear the fuel pump come on, make pressure and turn off like normal.
Any ideas??

When mine did that, both times it was water in the fuel. At first, I thought that I was getting bad fuel however I was using the same fuel in other vehicles with no water issues.
Upon further investigation I found that my fuel tank vent hose was laying down in the bottom of the belly pan. What would happen is the snow would melt in the belly pan and then when the fuel/tank would cool down, it would draw water up in through the vent line into the tank.
The fix was to cut off about 3" of the vent line so that it didn't terminate down at the bottom of the belly pan and of course drain the tank of contaminated fuel. After I did that, no more water in the fuel!

No kidding? Wow, would not have suspected that. OK, so let me toss this at you, now that I'm well into winter, and any water would be froze, do you think its water / ice at the pick up (s) in the tank or maybe at the filter? I think I'll drag it into my shop and let it warm up for a day or so and see if I can prove out your idea. thanks for the help BTW, I run one of your roll over valves, works awesome.

Yeah, how I found it is when I pulled the fuel line off at the filter the fuel spray had some water droplets in it. So then I put the fuel line in a clean empty gas can and cycled the fuel pump. From there I poured it into a clear container and you see the fuel was cloudy from water contamination.
Of course you'll want to be very careful when doing this, no sparks, heat sources or smoking!

Well, now your taking the excitement out of things , Ha..........thanks again.
One more thing, I stored my sled full of gas and I use Torco Accelerator, have you had any issues using that?

I've never tried Torco Accelerator. Usually I will store my sled in the shop and with a full or mostly full tank though.

The best I can get from the pumps up here is 90 octane, with 6# of boost I shoot for 93 at a min. What do you use?

I ran naturally aspirated with a header, air box mod and EVO premium fuel reflash, so I'm able to get away with 91 octane here. Since your boosted, I'd probably run the Torco or a splash of race fuel just to be safe. I think your in the ball park shooting for 93 minimum at 6#'s though.

Well, no luck with water in the fuel, pulled my sending unit and pump, pulled all the gas out, no water, clean as can be in the tank. I did stick the pump and pickups into a bucket of gas, using the stock sled connection for the power source. Turned on the sled and got the short run of the pump that's programmed. Did this a few times, not exactly a strong stream of gas coming out. Not sure what to expect on these. Decided to re-assembl and take it to the dealer, I have extended warranty but have never used a warranty in my life, new to me. Don't like leaving my sled in their hands. Have always done my own work. I suspect it will be something simple.

Yeah, to bad it wasn't that simple. Probably good thing that you checked it though. If you had taken it to the dealer and it turned out to be water in the fuel, the warranty wouldn't have covered it.
Hopefully they can get it checked out and get you up and running quickly!

Did you ever figure out what the issue was? I am having the same issue with my 2015 mpi viper and it has me baffled I’ve already eliminated water in the fuel

Dude. This really hurts to write. Really. Turns out I had put a rag in the intake while pulling the plastics up have no idea what hen this happened but after taking the intake runner off. There was a rag ( mine ) right up next to the turbo. Boy, talk about a head hanger. Couldn’t believe I did it. But. That was it. She pulls like a train again. Good luck. Learn from my mistakes
