What type of rivets are used on the foot wells of the sidewinder? I'm about to install a rear bumper and I'm thinking the rivets should be aluminum, since the whole tunnel is aluminum

Most of them can be aluminum. There are 4 rivets at the front of the bumper on each side that are gold in color though. These are high strength rivets and should be replaced with the factory rivet.
You can get these from your Yamaha or Arctic Cat dealer.
You may want to borrow or pick up an air powered rivet gun, there are a LOT of rivets and the high strength ones are particularly stiff to compress by hand!

I've used stainless steel rivets on the tunnel before without issues. They actually clamp down tighter and resist loosening over time better then aluminum ones. The one exception would be if you had a carbon fiber tunnel, SS rivets will crush the carbon fiber.
Stainless rivets do require more effort to compress though, so an air riveter is the way to go with stainless steel rivets.

Thanks a lot. Thinking about powder coat them red to match my tunnel. Think it will look good against the black bumper
