Sure riding is better than keyboarding but if you love sleds Sidewinders and mountain riding check this guy out. https://www.youtube.com/@Janzkak. We started backcountry riding back in 2021 and seeing this guy handle his MTX in those conditions is remarkable to me. Makes me consider a BTX...
Howdy,
2018 F150 2.7 Ecoboost. 169k miles. Only towed 2 place sled trailer a few times in all. Daily driver to work and family vacation vehicle. Wrench of despair pops up and truck is no go. Dealer finally texted me yesterday to say no problem we can replace tranny for $8800. Any experience...
Well I am spring ordering a Skidoo Backcountry X 850 because that suits my group's riding style better now. Daytrip logging roads and boondocking and campfire lunch instead of 1000 mile saddlebag looping.
In all honesty the Winder has been great to me. Since I got the 5 year warranty its been...
Towed one of the Apexes home last night with Winder.
Dont see many threads on this. Code cranks but no start. Seems like a little gear oil puked out. Thinking drive bearing? Other ideas? Didnt try rotating clutch as of yet.
I searched and did not see a direct thread related to SW for steering slop. I seem to have some play at the bushing just above the motor - is there a better aftermarket bushing for this?
The 17mm at the bottom of the post - how do I access that one? Remove A-Arm boot?
Any other places to look...
Went to install Bill Mohr spring and found my main spring loose and small spring broken. Seems like I am missing the lower spring retainer. Can someone post a photo of the shock and or tell me which part I am missing?
Thanks Jack
Lucky for me, one of my sledding buddies now has a home in Maine that serves as our base camp. My sled is on the next pony express to base camp Maine to be waiting for my 1st trip planned for week of 13 Jan.
Pre-season maintenance or changes.
Replaced bent A-Arm and spindle after last season...
In Maine again for my last trip of the year.
My Winder has been good. At 2035 the belt shredded. Thr cords were actuall mostly still intact on the clutches. Stll a "belt" Had belt changer befote group came back to check on me. Clutches were not hot. Not even the primary. In retrospect I...
. . . On one of the Apexes in the group.
Greenville to The Forks and back. 120 miles. Winder running good on OEM belt. Brought temp gun but never pulled it out.
I missed the morning run but ran my Winder in the Pro - Am afternoon race. Came in 5th even though I stopped to help a crashed rider. Gnarly course up around a ski center. The run up the main hill was wild. Switched to slim Jim duallys on my MTX skis. Much better then the semi-agressive...
I know there are a few threads on this but there is not much info.
I got a SideWinder this year and kept my 07 Attak GT. Its so nice to be able to pack on the tunnel I want to ditch the dual outlet muffler, extend the tunnel, and put a rack and seat jack back there. With the exhaust out of...
I searched and there are several old threads on this topic but I am looking for fresh info.
We have 2 different Apexes in our stable that need new tracks. I have a 1.6 Ice Cobra on my Winder and so far I really like it but I think the others are interested in sticking with traditional studs...
Guys we are on a bag trip and had to fashion a repair of a tear in the crossover aluminum tube and I cannot find the bleed screw. Photos would be a blessing.
Thanks
I finally got a few miles on my LTX LE. My sled is set just as it was when I left the dealer which is kind of a generic but I'm not real knowledgeable on suspension tuning. I rode most of the time in spitting snow to snow squalls but only about 6" on the ground with drifts here and there. Field...
