The 2011's were at Old Forge last Saturday. This is the latest that I saw - reminder I am not a mechanic but these are my impressions. The biggest thing is POWER STEERING. This makes the sled very easy to handle. My wife found it very easy to turn (she rides an 06 Apex ER) - reminder the sled...
I know in Old Forge the dealer here has brand new 2007 Apex GT for $8500. I read that Yamaha will give you $2000 on a brand new sled (excluding 09's) so that is $6500. So for $6500 you can get a new sled. I don't know what you can get one used for. Go to the Yamaha site for details on the $2000
I had 2006 ER before I bought a 2007 GT. My wife had an RX 1 which she really did not like. So, she tried my ER and liked it. She felt she much more control over it. So, I bought the GT for myself. There is a marked difference between the two. Like I said before,my wife is really happy with the...
My wife & I use the Yamaha handguards with the new mirrors from Yamaha attached to them. The handguards are an improvement for wind protection and the heaters are working better but the mirrors are much improved over the ones on the cowling (which were useless). They look like Nytro mirrors.
00vert's solution are the mirrors I have. These mirrors are much better than previous mirrors. I also installed Yamaha hand guards/wind deflectors and had the mirrors installed on them. Like I said before, they work much better than the other mirrors that were installed on the cowling. The wind...
I had an 05 RX1, then an 06 Apex(wife) and now an 07 Apex GT (mine) and the saddlebags fit on all three. I have the semi rigid ones. AT least with the Apex sleds I only use them when we go on a extended trip because there is storage in the back. I was looking at getting the under the hood bags...
We ride the Old Forge, Tug Hill, Speculator area and we have six in our group. Each of us have one of these units. We find these work great. We don't have to take our hands off the handlebars to signal other sledders. The last one changes their lights to green. Most of the people that we pass...
I usually ride between 30mph - 70 mph. Not really excessive speeds. In fact last year I traded my wife's Vector in = gave her my RX 1 and bought an Apex for myself. So the sled is really hers now. But this was happening before we "switched". The sled has about 5300 miles on it. I bought it new -...
The engine was warm - in fact the oil light came on. The dealer changes the oil/oil filter. No drips under the machine, no oil in the pan and no blue smoke from the exhaust.
Again thanks for any info
Bill
I have the same problem. About 3/4 of the way through the season it stared using oil. About every two - three rides it would use more than 3/4 of a quart. Before that I would get a season without any problems at all. Since I live in Florida and the machines are up north, I brought it into my...
Yes - you are right - all of our friends in Florida think we are crazy - sometimes I think they are right.
Yes we do own our snowmobiles - had 2002 Yamaha V max a 600 & a 700. They had over 5500 miles on them.
We bought two new machines - 05 RX1 ER for me and a RS Vector ER for my wife...
Have to drive 1200 miles - one way (live in Florida) -stay approx 1 month then return to Florida to thaw out for a couple of weeks - then return for another month or until the season ends
Yes - Florida
Been snowmobiling for about 20 years (off & on). Last year my wife & I retired and moved to Florida. Still we want to snowmobile. Usually put on about 2000 -2500 miles a season when we were in New Jersey. Lasy year when we were in Florida - only put on 1700 miles. Figured it...
