why do you have mirror's in the first place? you can't see anything behind you in the first place!yamadoo said:I have the Handgard and mirror set up and am pleasantly surprised by how they look and work, Sorry do not know how to get a picture on here. Tried and my wife's camera has to much 'megapixels'.
Anyway other than cost of both hand gaurds and mirrors I like this set up. Definately could not put on cover and if rolled they would be toast. ? Why are we rolling trail sleds guys? LOL

mirror
I've used the Cat outside the windshield mirrors for 3 years. I had them on the short, and mid windshields. The is some modifications that have to be made to fit curve difference. They work well.

You do not need to go to Yamaha Canada to get the handle bar mirror mounts.
Option 1
The handle bar mounts can be ordered from J R Graham. They are listed in the 2008-2009 off-road Parts & Accessories catalog page 15 part # EM28120 price $3.70 each. You will of course need two. They will both be a right handed thread. You will not be able to use Yamaha mirrors, because Yamaha mirrors are right and left handed thread. However you will be able to use all other mirrors that have a 10MM thread. If you know anything about motorcycles mirrors, you already know this.
Option 2
Handle bar mounts and mirrors are also available in a kit from J R Graham. They are listed in the 2009 Winter snowmobile catalog page # 83 part # 62-12003 price 12.75 each. These are advertised as Ski Doo Mirrors. The picture only shows half of the bar mount, so I would suggest you ask them about the other half.

I sent a couple emails to dealers in Canada but don't seem to be getting any replies back. If anyone can help me get hooked up with a Canadian dealer, I would like to get a set. Thanks in advance for your help.
John
There is a canadain dealer here on the site as an advrtiser. I think they are in Hamilton, Ontario. Can't remember the name right now.

They are a little narrow, so there's a fair bit of my shoulders in the mirror view (or maybe I'm a bit wide!) - but I prefer that to having them too wide and catching on stuff.
Here's a couple of pic's of them installed.

do these fold in like the older style mirrors? does your cover still fit?

00vert's solution are the mirrors I have. These mirrors are much better than previous mirrors. I also installed Yamaha hand guards/wind deflectors and had the mirrors installed on them. Like I said before, they work much better than the other mirrors that were installed on the cowling. The wind deflectors also help with the grip heaters. In fact last weekend in Old Forge when it was bitterly cold, the heaters were on 50% and the grips were very warm.
The mirrors do not fold in so if you have a cover that's a snug fit they will not work. But I have an enclosed trailer and when I'm up here I have a Yamaha cover that was not tailered for individual machines. In fact I have the same covers when I had my V Maxes back on 2000-01 season. Since then I use the same covers for the RX-1 & Vector we used to have and use them now for the two Apexes my wife & I have. When we are up here the machines are outside the house we rent and the covers work just fine in keeping the snow/ice off the machines. We use the enclosed trailer to store the machines during the summer and when/if we decide to trailer to other locations (like Canada) when we choose to do so.

The mirrors do not fold in, however my cover does still fit with them installed.
