I did 320 miles on a 1994 v-max 4 when I was a lot younger. I was shot after that ride. Have done 300 on my apex and a lot easier but still can kick your #*$&@ especially if last 50 miles are 2 footers like they usually are!!

I did do some testing swapping skies and the Slydogs did NOT effect top speed. Did a lot of suspension changes and was affecting top speed more. Thanks for feed back.

I bought a used 2013 xtx last night. It has bar risers curve skies and studs with only 1k miles. Took it for a ride and don't know if skid has been revalved but rode really nice even in small studders bumps. I did not know mcx was a rear mount turbo. I will be looking into that in future! Riceburner, Do you trail ride with mcx turbo? My last turbo apex was a front mount powder lite back in 2006 and had a lot of heat issues. I am looking at supercharger next or rear mount turbo??

I knew the nitro would be faster. Its a Yamaha! The one really good thing about Yamaha sleds is efficiency. But from what I hear cat is a better handling and bump sled. Can not have it all.

Believe it or not skies will also help. Try a set of Yamaha tuner skies. Steering effort is light and put longer carbide to inside of ski. Then when u get ski lift the ski will give a little with shorter less aggressive outside carbide. They my push a little but I ran more front spring pressure...

I would think yammy motor with exhaust and air intake mods with some good fuel mapping would run with any modded 2 stroke that has to run hard for 500 miles! Should be close to 150hp and run reliable!

Well I am going to order new sled for next year and would be very happy if they just updated apex with lighter or more powerful motor! I personally would prefer that over a catpex!! Only other sled that would get my interest would be a 4 stoke mach Z????

The no fog mask worked for me. Still have to be careful not to breath really heavy with shield down. Its fairly cheap to try.
