    which mtn ski?

Not totally satisfied with the Tuner Ski (6"/4") setup on my XTX. Loose snow performance is ok at best and off trail floatation is not great either. I've heard good things about the Yamaha Mountain Ski. My question is which is better the pre 2011 model or the post 2011 model? Thanks

    XTX is squirrely

I don't think the hole sled sags just the rear. are you thinking i should crank up my torsions or lessen the skid spring preload. I know for sure if I keep this sled, it will need to shock revalving and the star xtx kit.

    XTX is squirrely

I'm about 250 geared up. The rear drops about 2 inches after the usual 4-5 inch "sag" when I sit on it. I have tuners with the toe set at zero and woody's 6" inside and 4" outside. I don't think it's sitting to high, I've considered studs but it already pushes and I don't want to make it...

    XTX is squirrely

So I have my 12 XTX setup per sj's post. Loose front shocks, center skid with lots of preload, stock strap setting, and control rods in the middle. This thing rails when there is a little chop and the trails are set up. It pushed in loose stuff but i can live with it. So my question is...

    Viper RTX or LTX?

Thinking this will be my last year on my Nytro XTX (2012), I'm looking to give Yamaha another shot as I am in love with this motor. However, I hate just about everything else this sled does unless I'm on hardpack with chop or in 2+ feet of powder. Will the RTX with 129" skid be ok for the...

pilot ski on my nytro[not sure if i like them]

Sorry, just getting tired of fighting with this machine. I came from 09 mxz and went yami for the warranty and reliabilty. As for the avatar I didn't want to offend anyone with too big of a pic. Just seems like everyone has a picture of their favorite toy...so I did the same :pics:

    Too much toe out?

Thanks Grimm, my next move was to let the straps back down. I'm also going to set the toe at 0 with the bungee cords on the tips. Been thinking about studs to since all of the guys I ride with run picks.

pilot ski on my nytro[not sure if i like them]

I feel your frustration. I put tuner skis on and have been fighting a twitchy front end. I guess this sled is more of a project than a hobby. Maybe pilot skis are the answer.......if attached to an MXZ!

    Too much toe out?

I have the toe set at about 1/2" out with bungee cords on the fronts of the skis. There seems to be quite a bit of play in the tie rod ends which would cause the toe to be up to 7/8". Should I be setting it at 1/4" assuming it will be more without the bungees on it?

    Too much toe out?

I love everything about my '12 xtx except the handling (I guess that would mean I don't really like it). This year I added the OFT Relocator, Pioneer hyfax savers, Tuner Skis with 6" & 4" woody's. I have the ski shocks set up with no preload and dampening/rebound on full soft. One hole up...

Surprised by the 2014 Nytro. Anyone else?

Nytro is still the coolest looking sled ever made! Go ahead and buy a Viper and when you pass a Rush or Cat on the trail, you'll wonder "Is that what my sled looks like?"

    2012 nytro xtx any issues.

Just did 130 miles on my '12 XTX on mostly icy trails. This morning I went all in and changed my suspension setup to the "soft and low" approach. WOW. Still needs better skis and maybe some studs but what a difference when you lower the center of gravity. Motor....flawless. The only way it would...

    2013 nytro Xtx

Hopefully they put the dupont slides, or extra wheels on for that big track! Or maybe a big ugly warning sticker that says "Do Not Operate In Marginal Snow Conditions"

    2012 nytro skis

Not sure yet. Dual carbides are definitely not the answer though. I had to go to almost zero weight transfer to get it to steer. However the snow conditions have been less that ideal. I'm thinking pilot 6.9s will be the answer.
