Heh. Just kidding. I was referring to the fact that I'd have a lot less trailering to do, I didn't mean Toronto per se, and I know you guys get hosed on sled prices.
What accounts for the speed differences? Lots of differing speeds. Were the top 3 sleds n/a? Pretty impressive if so considering there was a s/c one at 118...
Great post, 'Stroker.
Turk hit the nail on the head, I think. All the torque in the world won't matter if the weight disadvantage keeps increasing year after year. No way in hell would I buy an Etec 800 - I'm afraid of the motor - but at 620 lbs I wouldn't buy an Apex, either. That's...
Pretty sure you mean I-86. ;)!
Probably too far for you (edit:whoops, def too far, but check it out someday ;)! ), but I can vouch for ME also. I've done Rangeley, Greenville, Jackman, and taken a few runs past Katahdin to Ashland as well - and those aren't even where the widest trails...
Damn, all of you have some nice iron. Cats are ugly as hell but that thing is a beast and I sincerely hope you enjoy every second of it! A Bravo with pink sparkles would beat the hell out of my keyboard. :tg:
Where do you guys ride with all that hp? All of you seem to be running 300+ hp...
I will definitely take a trip up there someday, have always been amazed by Ontario's trails. I always wonder why there are so many people from Ontario talking about riding in Quebec when you have trails like that...I wouldn't bother to leave.
Wow. I can tear a computer down like that, but anything with an engine and I feel like I'm trying to comprehend neurosurgery. I don't even know what half of the items you listed are, lol. Looks great!
Fantastic thread, keep it updated!
Don't get me wrong, I had some fun, but for the most part women there fall into these categories:
1. Cute girls in their early 20's who have their pick from any of 10 diff guys....and then get married or leave state anyway
2. Married, taken, or lesbians
3. Giant cows with 5 kids and no...
Boy you speak the truth, left there 8 years ago for the same reason (and the complete and utter absence of women). When I hit the lottery I am going to have a camp up there someday however... :drink:
Good post. If I lived where you did and rode those galactic-sized trails, I'd have an Apex too. I would definitely want something heavier + faster. Heavier is definitely nicer on wider trails, I don't like feeling like a pinball, either.
For smaller twisty trails (Western Me, Tug Hill from...
I've been critical of you in the past, but I think you hit the nail on the head here. I agree with almost everything you're saying.
I too like the white/blue on the Vector. Not as tired of the blue, but maroon is a God-awful color. Red is synonomous with racy. Maroon is synonymous with...
Jan-Ove,
I would also like to thank you for putting these pics together - you spend an enormous amount of time taking all these shots and I for one appreciate it. It's nice to see how people live and ride in other parts of the world.
Thanks again and best wishes for your summer!
Derek
Mine too. 20-30 years to go and I'm already looking forward to retirement so that I can do that, lol.
Like BBY2K said though, it goes by very very fast, so I'm not wishing it away by any means. Savor every day because the older you get, the quicker it goes...
I'm 34. Not an Apex rider...
You are on topic; you're talking about Yamaha vs Doo reliability, which is basically what this boils down to.
I don't know how the OP would want to take their chance after reading this thread, but that is up to them. I am a big believer in "ride what you like"; at the end of the day, it's...
