Have you taken off your hood mounted powder deflectors?

I saw a pair of these go for an absurd amount of $ on Ebay recently. Made me want to dig them out of the parts box and list 'em. Won't be putting them back on though...

Do all 16" wide tracks on RX-1 cause harmonic vibration

My vibration has diminished to almost nothing since adding the anti-stabs. Its hard to say if it went away solely because of this and is still there slightly. Was certainly the last thing on my mind the past couple of weeks so I'm leaving it alone. I have yet to really look closely at the...

    M7 Skid install

Although they are installing a 162/M7 in this thread; http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... d&start=60 There is a lot of good info in there regarding the M7 install....

Why is my sled so fast?!

Well Thanks guys, What doesn't show is the gaping hole behind the seat I've yet to cover, got some snow down my pants thursday. Pretty crazy weather were having in the NW, good for nothing but speed testing. Of course the one thing I can't seem to get around to is putting the scratchers back...

Why is my sled so fast?!

Still only have a total of 250 miles (probably 20+ hours) on my recent mods (M7, 162x16x2.3x2.52, etc.) so have not dared to test my workmanship in too deep yet. Finally took the thing out to some of my more distant play spots (32 miles of trail round trip) and noticed something strange, the...

I've got the belt "chirping" thing going on ..

My ultimax 3 squeals a bit after a good thrashing (fine when cool), stock belts don't squeal on my clutches. This season the UM3 seams to be holding up, last year I had blown up two of them by now. Much deeper conditions last year though. Hoping for a decent Feb/March!

Vibration found (M7) Rail tips chewed, what did you do?

    J. I couldn't really say that pulling the limiters in all the way helped with anything other than keeping the railtips away from the track (further). Assuming we are all at approx the same settings otherwise, would say letting the limiters out to mid or all the way would be a little better all...

Vibration found (M7) Rail tips chewed, what did you do?

OK, ordered the wheels. Seems like a necessity if one wants to run the limiters in the middle or all the way loose. Today I rode with the limiters full tight, middle shock full soft, rear full stiff. Had significantly less vibration. Snow was bottomless most of the time. Never used the shovel...

    Apex Bars

Could you be more specific about the deal. I just picked up some '06 bars/warmers/hooks from an Apex and am pretty happy, especially with the grips/hooks. They are not nearly as warm as my '03 RX1 grips but they were too hot to control sometimes. They will fit but are significantly lower rise...

Anybody have Lincoln's dropdown bracket fix??

Old yeah but still the best (and cheapest) thing you can do to the stock rear suspension.....

Vibration found (M7) Rail tips chewed, what did you do?

Hey Thanks everybody for the responses. Thanks Aaron for the link and the message (will phone you tomorrow). I rode around the yard today with the limiters pulled all the way in and the front shock full soft. Wasn't quite bottomless but did feel better in the sharp transitions. I am definately...

Vibration found (M7) Rail tips chewed, what did you do?

I remember some discussion about this last year but can't find now. After about 135 miles my plastic rail tips are about shot on the new M7 skid. I've noticed a vibration only in the deepest snow, on a ski track or trail it goes away. The tips are being pushed into the track at an angle it...

Bent spindles AGAIN! Has anyone came up with a fix?

Frosty, can you post a pic? I have an '03 but have never experienced this. Some of my A-arm bolts were tweaked and the saddles on my Simmons skis seem to bend downwards but....never actually looked at my spindles.

Rider forward without the work? Pivoting/articulating riser

I rarely have time to go out for more than three hours lately and stand mostly anyway. It would be nice to be able to kneel though. I was using an Apex seat but since I added the the R1 muffler, it doesn't fit right. Can't seem to find the time to mod it. Here is a better pic of the 8"...

Rider forward without the work? Pivoting/articulating riser

Guys, this is not a great closeup of the risers but these are Powermadd 8" double articulating (pic is pretty big if you click). I'm not feeling the need to be any further forward. The riser is set more or less straight up and down. The bars are a pretty low rise (stock steel off an XR650R). I...

M7 track tightening questions (to Holz or not?)

Ouch! Sorry to hear that Pete about the shipping. I think I paid about $25us for the extension shipping from Hartman but I'm only one state away (what a great guy to deal with). Its a nice unit. Fits perfectly and plenty of nice rivets included. Lemme know how the holz brackets work out for...

How hot does your clutch get?

Good point Hammer, I have cost myself a lot of time and money not reading through an entire thread to get all the info (bought and attempted to install the wrong oil filter once, pita). Greatly appreciate all the specs you posted! My clutch does not seem to be getting any hotter with the longer...

How hot does your clutch get?

Thanks Treewhacker, I considered the 19 but would need a new chain, may still do it. Allignment is good but what are the torque limiters? I get slight squealling when hot with an Ultimax 3 belt as if its a hair too short. OEM belts run great. Thanks, Mark

How hot does your clutch get?

This has plagued my RX1M since I got it. Last year went through three belts. Have never blown an OEM belt though and keep it on the cover as a reserve. Installed one of the Toocool air vents on the clutch side but I'm still getting too hot to touch for more than a second. Clutching was done by...

M7 track tightening questions (to Holz or not?)

Thanks for the replies on this guys, Think I will definately order the brackets, I've come this far, whats another $69. See what you mean about the arc of travel on the front. An inch would be huge. Seems even raising it though there will still be some tightening but if it gets me another few...
