I went from a 151" x15" ported finger track to a 159" x 16" factory ported track. The 151" rolled a bit easier (the 159" is newer) and never ever gave me any vibration. I have a M7 141" skid with a 4.5" rail extension for the 159" and my limiter straps are just like they came (all the way out). Perhaps I should suck them up a bit?
The 16" Camoplast Challenger seems to create a bit of a harmonic vibration at higher speeds.It was worse when I first installed it but now that I took my rivet gun (air hammer) to the front of the rear skid bolt hole stiffeners and reshaped the area of rubbing it diminished a lot but there's still some of the vibration going on. Maybe it's just this track?
The 16" width definately helps the RX-1 float in the deep stuff. I was very happy to have it yesterday. The Skidoo Rev guys I was riding with (and were digging out most of the day) said I had absolutely changed their minds about four strokes because my sled had worked so well in the steep and deep. So, I hate to go back to a 15" wide.
I have ridden Jonnyrockets RX-1T with a 162" x16" Maverick and felt some of the same vibration. He has added the anti stab wheels on the front of his skid and moved the mount point of his front track shock up and back to battle the vibration but as far as I know it's still there.
I may swap out this track for a Camoplast Extreme before next season but if all 16" wide tracks create some vibration maybe a 15" would be better?
What have you guys seen on your RX-1s?

I am fighting the same thing with my m7 camo extreme combo.. Read a few posts down. In my case I think it is just the 3pitch track and driver combo.. I was thinking that might be the case, but someone else pointed it out over on SnoWest. I think maybe too that since the M skid is built so much lighter than the Yammie skid that is also where some of the vibration is coming from. A buddy has same 153 track and drive combo on a AC M9, gonna see how his vibrates.

So, you and Jonnyrocket are having the vibration with 3.0" pitch tracks and I having it with a 2.52" track and a M7 skid. Jonnyrocket has a 1M skid.
I don't hardly notice it at lower speeds and light loads now that I bent the stiffeners out of the way but under full power I can still feel the vibration (although not nearly as badly) through my feet.
The only place I could see where the track was rubbing was the front track bolt hole stiffeners. Did I miss somewhere?

Is this a drop and roll? If so, check the paddles for contact on the jackshaft with the 2.5" paddles it may be slapping that as it turns. I was changing out my 151 x 2, to a 162 x 2.25 Mav with a drop and roll and noticed that the clearance between the jackshaft and the track was minimal.
I don't know, just a thought!

Thanks Rsemi1, but isn't the jackshaft mounted above the tunnel between the secondary clutch and the upper chain case gear? I can't figure out how the track could hit that shaft?
Could you explain that to me please?

Frosty I run the same track and no vibration. When I first installed there were some rub points that would cause vibration. You probably have already inspected the sides of your track for rub points, they are easy to see on the track. Double check your drivers for propper alignment. At the rear drop-down brackets I installed a couple of washers between the shaft and the brackets to spread the tunel a little more. I also put billet brackets on to increase the tunnel space. Track alignment must be spot on and I have about 1/4" each side of track. I do have a holtz skid so that may make a difference. I did rub on a couple of bolts at first and after a couple of rides I found them as you could see the marks on the side of the track. I counter sunk them and flatend a couple of rivets in the tunnel. If you inspect your tunnel and it has rubbed enough you should see the marks on it .

Are you really running the Skidoo/Camoplast Challenger Lite track? I'm guessing you're running the 2.0" Challenger? Do they make that in a 16" wide?

i have lot of vibration, but not at all speed. i dont have support wheel in the tunnel and k-mod suspension. Seem to be more at low speed. when i go from left to ride, track move a little bit.
Sometime, track rub against the tunnel too.

My vibration has diminished to almost nothing since adding the anti-stabs. Its hard to say if it went away solely because of this and is still there slightly.
Was certainly the last thing on my mind the past couple of weeks so I'm leaving it alone. I have yet to really look closely at the underside of the mid lower shock mount as suggested. Still bottoming occassionally on the old cast muffler pan rear but its protecting the coolant crossover tube nicely. Only happens in really sharp transitions. Wouldn't give up this length or width (162x16x2.3) track on these sleds. Reverse and some stomping of feet has pretty well obsoleted my shovel.
Definately giving up some HP to cramped conditions in the stock tunnel. I will start over with an Apex before doing much more to the '03.

I went ahead and order the anti stab wheels just to eliminate the tips of the rails as the problem.
I seem to remember when I first put on my Wahl brothers extroverts with my 151" finger track that I had some vibration initially. I remember filing the teeth to help the problem and it worked.
I turned my extroverts around (like a dumb a$$) when I put on the 16" track and expectedly, the vibration is back. Could it be something as simple as the driver to track relationship?
I have to wonder if there is a difference between the Avid and Wahl brother drivers and vibration tendencies?

I had vibration on my stock track when adding extro's. I ground the teeth down and the vibration was gone. Turning your drivers around surely is the problem.
To me, Wahl driver's don't seem to be a good match. So many people have had to file/grind the teeth.

I'm very close to just ordering a Camoplast Extreme 162 x 16" track and new Avid drivers.
Are there better drivers out there?

Frostbite where did you order anti stab wheels from? When i put the M7 skid on one of our sleds i started worrying all the time about stabbing and was told i would have to fab up my own wheels. Did you order a kit or something for them?
