    YAMAHA MISSED THE BOAT

The more they go up in value, the more my 2006 Apex GT is worth. Before I buy a 2011, I'll put a clutch kit and new skis on my 2006.

Rode new sled in Old Forge today

The demo ride.... Is is just one new model? A 2011 Apex? Are there a lot of different " prototypes?" Did they bring anything other than what everyone is posting? A new chassis? A new motor? Maybe something for 2012 ? 2013 ?

What do you suggest Yamaha should change for 2011?

The Big Bang motor Any Yamaha enthusiast who follows both the motorcycles and snowmobiles, know that Yamaha changed their 2008 R-1 motorcycle to a "Big Bang" motor for the 2009 model year. It made motorcycle of the year. It's a 4 cylinder with the power and torque that feels like a big twin...

    Newest negative rumor

Yamaha is #2 , only behing Ski-Doo Cat was 3rd Polaris was 4th and almost left for dead a few years ago. If anything, Polaris was going build a motorcycle (Victory) to compete with Harley Davidson's American market/ Victory's depreciate FAST! And their snowmobile development was...

Which 2010 Yamaha would you pick?

The black Nytro is sharp, but I was waiting for a new model. I mean a REALLY new model! Have to wait until next year, I guess! We have a 2006 Apex GT and a 2007 Apex RTX. Yamaha hasn't made anything yet, that would want us to sell or trade what we currently ride.

    WHAT A LET DOWN!

Like the little Japanese factory rep once said, "Same as last year" Don't wanna say, "I told you so, but...." Ive been hearing this stuff since the original SL-350 and SL-351

    New snocross sled

If Yamaha was serious about a snowcross sled, then they'd be building 600 cc and 800 cc snowcross sleds that were twin cylinder two strokes.

2010 models released Tuesday: What are they gonna have???

I'm betting on a high performance light weight two-stroke on a Nytro chassis, or something similar. ( The two stroke Johhny Skeptical is making a come back ) My son is betting that it's an 800 cc twin, Im betting that it's a 600 cc twin. Maybe they'll introduce two new light weight high...

Snowcheck an 09 or keep my 08?

I have an 06 Apex GT, my son has an 07 Apex RTX. I thought of trading up to the 40th anniversary Apex GT, but was waiting to see what the 09's looked like. After seeing the line up for 2009, I'll have my sights set for a 2008 Apex GT 40th anniversary edition.

    2009 Yamaha

I guess it's worth keeping our 2006 Apex GT and 2007 Apex RTX, since they really didn't change anything. Here's the conclusion that I've come up with: When Yamaha comes out with an entirely new model, somehow, somewhere, somone manages to get a sneak peak out there for all of us to see. But...

No more painted tunnels for Yamaha.

Thats how they remedied the problem with the paint on the floorboards prematurely wearing down to the bare aluminum.

    2009 lineup !!!

Dont want to say "I told you so" But did you finally see the 2009's???? See how Yamaha remedied the black paint on he floor boards from prematurely wearing out down to the bare aluminum? The new sled has a bare aluminum chassis. Whoopie!

Paint wearing on RTX and GT footwells

WE have a 2006 Apex GT and a 2007 Apex RTX, both with the black painted tunnel. There was obvious wear when there was only a few hundred miles on the sleds. You can always wait until spring, mask it off, and try painting them again.

    Yikes! Part prices

I went to the local shop trying to locate some vintage parts for an old diaphram style carb. I needed the glass tube and tiny black rubber cap for it ( necessary to adjust the float level ) They wanted over $3.00 for that black cap that looks like it shouldn't cost more than 49 cents. and the...

WHo is disappointed with the first release?

I think it's a decent model that fits nicely into their entire line up. We might as well start all over again with the next bunch of rumors untill we see the 2009's in March.

When will the other guys learn?

Chassis are quite similar between them. The cost to build a twin cylinder liquid cooled 500, 600, 700, 800, or 900, must be very similar. I think the increased cost goes into the improved accessories and options such as the suspension and shocks.

When will the other guys learn?

I've checked out the other three manufacturers. Why do they still make a 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000? Does the market really call for all the different engine sizes? Most comparisons are 600cc class which includes Yamaha's 120HP three cylinder motor and the 135HP Nytro three cylinder motor...
