They are looking to finish at the halfway point in about 20th position, about 18 hours back of the front runners.

    2008 IRON DOG

Bummer, Jeff! I live here in Nome, watched all the halfway festivities. Hey, when Marks sled quit when you were riding it and you got the low oil pressure code, do you think the damage had been done there? You would think you would have got a warning long before she quit? Hope you...

    (Season 2007-08)- Yellowknife

That's it. I'm moving to Yellowknife. You guys have too much fun for me not to be there. I especially like the video of hunting spruce hens without firearms! Mmmm, grouse and ling cod...surf and turf. Kick butt stuff.

    (Season 2007-08)- Yellowknife

Freakin' awesome, YK, as always. I swear, if any of the manufacturers want to find out how their sleds work, they need send them to you. Your pics, details, write-ups put ALL of the snowmobile magazines to shame, big time!! Only one question? Are you sure that sample rear bumper/hitch is...

Yellowknife's 2006-2007 Season Odyssey on his Mountain Lite

Yellowknife, You are 'DA man! I look for your thread every time I come to this site, which is most every day during riding season. I have thoroughly enjoyed ALL of your write-ups, and your rapid mileage accumulations really help us all find out what to expect with our sleds. There is NO...

The making of an IronDog sled...

Yes, by all means keep this thread going. Nytro buyers everywhere would benefit from this. Yamaha fans want to see how this new sled competes with the rest, so anything you guys do is priceless information. Looking forward to seeing the Nytro's here in Nome at the halfway point. Name is...

alll 2007 Yamaha Phazers to be recalled?

Anyone hear yet what the frozen steering recall fix entails? Will it be just a couple caulking tubes of black silicone filling all the gaps in the plastic to frame and all the holes? I can't imagine what else they could do without spending a pile of $$$. Post it when you hear.

POLL, Phazer no start below -15 degrees F

I was leery. But, very glad to hear what your dealer did to yours helped with startability. Now, did it at all affect your overall fuel mileage? And, in a nutshell, give us a general consensus on the sled. Would you buy another? Thanks

POLL, Phazer no start below -15 degrees F

Wind chill has zero effect on machinery. Your next post said it was 5-10 degrees with 70 mile an hour winds. Thats a serious wind chill for sure, but only for you. Your sled only sees that 5 degrees.

2007 Mountain Lite vs. 2008 Mountain MTX

Yellowknife, I'm with you 100%. I spent over an hour comparing the '07 and '08 specs between the Mtn Phazers. USA site shows 1 gallon less fuel capacity. Ridiculous. The entire rear suspension is new. Why? I read of some rear brackets breaking, but a whole new design? Still has the...

Will the 2008 changes prompt people to sell their 2007?

I doubt many folks with the Phazer will be upgrading to the Nytro. Different class sleds and a five thousand dollar premium. I also doubt anyone with an '07 will dump it to get an '08 Phazer, as one would be getting basically the same sled with less rear suspension travel and a smaller gas...

Whos Got the Most Miles on there 2007 Phazer so far

well, glad you like it. Good review. Do you have the shorty or the mtn lite? I want the longer track, but not necessarily a 144. I see several reports here of failed rear suspension arms....perhaps thats why Yamaha put a whole new skid in the mtn lite, I dunno. There ain't a single...

Whos Got the Most Miles on there 2007 Phazer so far

OC, now that you have ridden it more, how about a no bs full monty review? Tell me what you think are problem areas Yamaha should address; then see what the '08 looks like and comment. I was set, yes, on ordering an '08 figuring for sure it would be improved. Now it looks like the best...

    anybody else notice this????

Disappointed Yamaha did not address the open tunnel or radiator intake. Both big complaint areas from guys who have ridden their '07's alot in various conditions...(thanks, Yellowknife). I fully expected to order a new '08 after they fixed this problematic area. I went to their website and...

No Yamahas in the Tesoro Iron Dog ? ? ? ?

The two Yamahas in the Irondog this year did as well mechanically as any of the others. I am in Nome, halfway point of the Irondog. Mark and Ron suffered broken parts, specifically suspensions front and rear, as did virtually all of the other riders on Polaris, Cat and Doo. This years race...

Yellowknife's 2006-2007 Season Odyssey on his Mountain Lite

Most awesome photos, YK! On a serious note, your sled maladies really suck. I did read elsewhere about the icing problems on the steering and other suspension components, so you are not alone. I hope you don't get the runaround from Yamaha, such as "we did not design the sled to be driven in...

Yellowknife's 2006-2007 Season Odyssey on his Mountain Lite

Nice pics, YK, as always.. I would be concerned about carrying gas or anything heavy of the like in the rear most section of that rack. I think that the weight combined with the leverage, adding moguls, and you're going to find problems with the mounting crop up quick. Not sure on the...

Hey, its all in the name of pertinent information! Everyone benefits here by reading these threads. If it were not for folks like you, Yellowknife, and others, we all would be just mushrooms.. As I thought, Yamaha is richening up the entire fuel map. No doubt your cold starting will improve...
