I'm curious about the differences, so why not research them and list them for everyone accorind to Yamaha Canada's site:

Price: 2008 Model is $100 more (not good)

Colours: 2008 is offered in two instead of just one in 2007 (good but don't care)

Front Suspension Travel: .2 (yes, point two) inches more on 2008 (doesn't matter)

Rear Suspension Travel: 1 inch less on 2008 (why?)

Rear suspension travel measurements are flawed anyway, it has nothing to do with shock stroke, they just measure from the ground to the top of the rear of the tunnel...that stat is totally flawed

Dry Weight: Apparantly they don't want us to know that again this year...I wish they'd get over it.

Ski stance: Same...is it adjustable? LOL, if so I didn't know that...says 37.6" to 39.6" on both models

Track: Same...good, I do love the track

Fuel Capacity: 3.3 Litres LESS on 2008. I've complained that the 30L tank is too small to begin with! I can't think of one good reason to make the tanks that small, not even weight - I say let those who are worried about wet weight only fill their sleds up half way and give the rest of us the milage that we want! Just because a sled gets good mileage doesn't mean you should start making the fuel tanks smaller! I say make the seat depth thiner and add more fuel tank height under the seat!! This fuel tank change is the most disappointing feature for 2008 in my opinion.

Tunnel Pannels: Well, 2008 sleds get them standard...think that's the extra $100 in msrp???

All other stats the same according to Yamaha Canada.

What do you guys think?

No protection for the rad? That's crap, and they should cap that tunnel, not offer tunnel pannels. No hitch, no rack = no improvements!!

If anything the 2008 Mountain Lite is worse and more expensive for nothing!

that is why im in the market now for an 07....i dont see why the 08 would be better

Yellowknife, I'm with you 100%. I spent over an hour comparing the '07 and '08 specs between the Mtn Phazers.

USA site shows 1 gallon less fuel capacity. Ridiculous. The entire rear suspension is new. Why? I read of some rear brackets breaking, but a whole new design? Still has the holes....??? No radiator fan standard, and from what I can make out in the photo galleries, no change to the air intake to the radiator. I wonder if any thing was done to address all the openings in the frame underneath.

USA list price is up $200.

I see no reason to buy an '08. I'll be looking for an '07 and do the mods you did to yours.

Hey the mtx has heated hooked handlebars and comes with
the tunnel panels...

Of course the brochure for the 2007 Mtn lite said it was
supposed to have hooked bars too, but it didn't...

Maybe we can complain as a group and get the bars... I'd love em.

I don't know if the rear suspension is different? The pic of the skid alone looks different but the pic with it in the sled looks the same as the 07 model. I'm confused.

They messed up on the pic of the skid all alone. The skid is the same as last years. Take a closer look at the pre-production photo studio shots of the whole sled. They appear to have the scissor style transfer arms like 07'. I want to know if they went to heavier springs in the Mtn Lite MTX for 08.

The bolt that holds the ski on has 2 washers on it. Those washers can be replaced to either side of the spindle and thats how you adjust the ski stance. They started that on the 05 mountain skis.
