Stabil has a new additive now for ethanol. Its called stabil marine formula. Ive been using this now. Supposed to work for all ethanol fuels.
I actually don't think its that new anymore. I remember seeing it about a year ago in the marine section at a local store.
Could be from a crating bolt. I found a washer similar to this when I took my gas tank off for the first time to replace my exhaust donuts. I was thinking it was when the sled was taken off the crate and assembled.
Could be wrong though.
I was just doing a inspection on the skid of my 07 GT and I noticed the hyfax will move left to right towards the rear of the skid!
I have oem slides on there. Are they supposed to be that loose? Im afraid if the screw that holds them on breaks, the slide will come out and ruin the track...
I have a 07 Apex GT and where my feet rest the paint is completely worn off. It looks like crap. The rest of the sled is in very good condition.
I remember seeing some inserts, I don't remember where, either on here or in a magazine somewhere. It's not the whole length of the tunnel but...
I just had my shock rebuilt by carver for my 07 GT. I got the skid put back in and the wiring routed correctly. I started the sled and adjusted the shock and everything appeared to be good. From soft to firm was a pretty good difference. I had the shock revalved too.
I went to adjust the...
Ive run the CR10Ek's for two seasons now. Sled always fires right up. Last trip I made it was -22F and she fired right up.
Main thing is, like what was mentioned before, is to let the sled warmup enough before shutting it down.
A buddy of mine fouled his stock CR9EB plugs twice from...
The bottom gear on an apex is 38 tooth. The top gear is 24 tooth. Which equals a 1.58 gear ratio.
By changing the top gear to a 23 tooth, you gear ratio would be 1.65.
BTW on the Attak the top gear is 23 tooth already.
No, I don't think it will. I looked at a 23 top gear off of my 00 srx and the shaft size where it is splined looked alot bigger on my Apex.
Even though the 00 up SRX used a 13 plate chain just like the Apex im almost positive that the gear is different.
I have a 07 Apex GT. I noticed the other day when you try to adjust the rear shock with the handlebar switch it doesn't seem to do anything from soft to full hard?
The display is working and the bars move up and down but doesn't seem to do anything. I have 5000 miles on it and have never...
I have 4700 miles on my original set of hyfax. There is about half of the hyfax there yet.
At first they wore quickly but after that they haven't wore at all. I also have 192 studs too.
Update. I tore the sled apart again today and I found that 2 of the 4 clamps used to hold the y-pipe to the flex pipes were loose! They weren't loose when I changed donuts before.
The donuts looked fine, as well the y-pipes. I just ground a little off the spacer and reassembled. Sounds...
Ive run them in my sled for 4500 miles so far. Always starts right up even during the cold snap we had at -25F.
I should probably change them out for some new ones though. Alot of miles on them.
Same problem here. Im starting to get pretty ticked off now. I replaced the donuts at 2800 miles and now the sled has 4200 and Im getting the same noise when started up cold.
Its rattling again. Im getting sick of tearing this thing apart and changing the damn donuts.
Has yamaha...
I use muratic acid. Im not sure im spelling it correctly. Get some of this and let it sit for a bit and just scrape the aluminum away.
I don't remember where I got it though. Sorry.
Im using that oil now. I was using the yamalube 0W-30 for about 3000 miles and switched to Amsoil.
We had some real cold weather here last week and the sled fired right up in -28 F.
My sled would use some oil before when running the yamalube. After I switched to amsoil it doesn't use any...
