WE HAVE AN 03 RX1 THAT CAME IN YESTERDAY .
PROBLEM IS THAT AFTER RUNNING UP AND DOWN A FIELD A FEW TIMES, THEN GOES BACK TO THE SHOP, STOPS MOTOR. WE SMELL OIL BURNING, LIFT HOOD OIL BURNING SMOKE COMES UP FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE MOTOR LOOKS LIKE BACK DOWN IN THE EXHAUST AREA.

PARAGON CLUTCH
I HAVE THIS CLUTCH ON TWO OF MY SLEDS , THE 83 V-MAX AND THE 03 RX1.
THE CLUTCH , WHEN SET UP WILL NOT HEAT UP AND BURN YOUR BELT NO MATTER HOW MUCH POWER YOU PUT TO IT.
THIS CLUTCH DOES NOT TWIST LIKE OTHER SECONDARY CLUTCHES DO.

2 CYCLE MOTORS NEED TO REV UP TO AN RPM THAT WILL LET THE POWER COME ON WITH OUT BOGGING THE MOTOR DOWN.
4 CYCLE MOTORS , LIKE THE ONE IN CARS HAVE NO NEED TO...
WANT MY ADVICE.? GET RID OF THE CLUTCH .!
PUT A PARAGON CLUTCH ON IT , YOU WILL BLESS THE DAY YOU DID.
100 % BETTER THAN I HAVE FOUND IN 35 YEARS OF RIDING AND FIXING.
LOWERING TOP GEAR WILL GIVE YOU MORE TOP END. THIS IS A 4 CYCLE NOT A TWO CYCLE. LOWER TOP GEAR GIVES MORE TOP END , TO A POINT, DEPENDING ON WHAT ELSE YOU YOU HAVE DONE.
I HAVE AN 03 RX1 W/ REVERSE. CAN NOT CHANGE BOTTOM.

# 2 CHECK YOU HOLDING RPMS IF TO LOW GRIND THE UNDER SIDE OF YOUR WT. ARMS. START AT TIP AND GRIND BACK TO 3/8" , GO EASY TAKE ONE GRAM OFF WILL RAISE HOLDING...
#1 GET RID OF THE SECONDARY YAM. CLUTCH AND PUT A PARAGON CLUTCH IN PLACE OF IT. OR PUT AN A/C SECONDARY ON IT , THEY MAKE ONE OF THE BETTER ONES.
# 2 GET RID OF YOU 2 CYCLE SPRING IN YOUR DRIVE CLUTCH AND IN STALL A 4 CYCLE SPRING.
# 3 TAKE YOU CLUTCH TO A MACHINE SHOP AND HAVE THEM...
GET RID OF THE 2 CYCLE SPRING IN YOUR DRIVE CLUTCH AND PUT IN A 4 CYCLE SPRING WILL MAKE YOUR SLED RIDE LIKE A NORMAL SLED , WITH OUT CHANGING THE PERFORMANCE.
TEAR DOWN IS NOT THAT HARD.
REMOVING THE MOTOR FROM THE SLED IS A MAJOR JOB , TAKES ABOUT 3 HOURS + .
PUTTING IT BACK IN AND GETTING IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME 4-5 HOURS.
