Hey guys,
I bought my 03 rx 1 withh 4400 miles this april and a friend of mine said to get Holtzman springs for better throttle response. Since I bought it I had Hauck powersports install a clutch kit and intake kit with new main and pilot jets. I told my self I would wait for snow to drive it, Well I couldnt wait. When I drove it it had considerable lag on throttle response. My question being will Holtzman springs shorten up the lag due to vacum being built to open the carbs?

is the intake kit with the filters?
would need to know what jets for pilot & mains
we have one with filters and i think its 22 pilots & 165 or 170 mains . we tried the springs could not feel any diff.

It has filters and I dont know what jets are in it. I live in Wisconsin if that helps

if its 22 pilots & 165 or 170 mains its maybe to rich this time of year could also be clutching , make sure your belt is at the top of the secondary, i am going up north today i will check the one with filters see if any bog this time of year.
your probley same alt as i am in mi. i know ours does not have ang bog in the winter .

Yeah I just warmed it enough for the light to go off, ran it and parked it. Thought I'd inqiury about the Holtzman springs

I did sled dogs air box mod on my 03 last year. I have 165 main jets and 17 pilot jets. I have tried the stock springs and yellow springs and I couldn't feel any difference. I left the yellows in. I would have to say that it is something to do with your jets. It might not hurt to go to CR10EK plugs also if you already don't have them. Read the thread below. There is a wealth of info about this topic. It is on an air box mod but the results are very similar.

i just put 162.5 main 20.5 pilots cr10ek plugs open k n air filters ,red springs ...and a new belt ,pulls great throttle responsive ...has belt issues that was lossing 1000 rpms ...will change belt every season ...

Now I have put 900 miles on the machine and have to say it pulls hard with no bog. At the beginning of the season the fuel had been bad and with the warmer weather when I ran it in the grass it had the hesitation. Glad its not there now and love the machine. From what I hear of the springs I do not think I will be installing them. A little fine tuning of the suspension and it will be perfect for me. Ski pipes have a great anti-dart effect and for whatever reason seems to help eliminate ski lift when cornering. I broke a front shock sunday and when me replacement comes I am going to level the front a-arms and readjust the limiter strap.
