I have a 2003 rx-1 never had a problem with it. started up this year fine as can be had to do the usual pull the fuel lines off the pumps this fall and get the fuel running through them like every other year. started it the other day fired right up. went to start it 2 days later and all it will do is roll and roll and roll. It will not even try to fire up. tried priming the fuel system again by pressurizing the tank and still nothing. I also tried putting a new set of plugs in it and still nothing. now I am stumped and lost as to why it would just not start all of a sudden. anyone with any ideas?

Did you clean the carbs? Check for spark?

Its your plugs I always had problems with all of mine if you start them and don't get them to temp the plugs foul it will either gurgle a bit or just crank and crank no fire.

pull the plugs out and dry them with a torch. if it was flooded bad enough, it will have fouled the new plugs as well. I would leave the plugs out for at least an hour to let the gas in the cylinders evaporate. longer if doing outside in the cold. then run it up to full temperature before shutting it off. might have to change the oil as well.

I had this happen to me one time after working on it and wound up tearing everything apart and then realized I had hit the kill switch. Sometimes it is the obvious and sometimes it is the operator.

Rx-1's will not turn over with the kill switch down

well messed around with it some more today. pull the plugs cleaned them up again. primed fuel system again. cranked and cranked and still nothing. sprayed some starting fluid in the carbs and she fired up for a second or 2 til the starting fluid was burnt up. so I have now confirmed good spark. so it is now a fuel delivery issue. going to pull the carbs off this weekend and clean them and see what happens.

Check the small rubber tube going from fuel pump to carb boot. That is the pulse line that activates your fuel pump if it is cracked or came off you will not get fuel. You can also simply remove one of the two lines going to carbs and see if fuel pumps out while cranking.

I did try that and when I crank it over no fuel comes out of the pump however I checked the pulse lines and no cracks or leaks.

Check the fuel filters in the tank. I bet they are coming apart and have plugged the pickup lines in the fuel tank. Was a problem others have had in the past.

And if the fuel pump is not pumping fuel as he has already determined how will this help?

Detach the fuel lines from the fuel pump.
Crank the engine, if fuel comes out of the both outlets on the fuel pump, then it's the carbs.
If not, it's either the fuel filter inside the tank or the pumps themselves.
