Ok im new to this site in the yamaha 4 strokes. in im guessing its like a bike or car, some times when i go to start the sled it just clicks in if i keep turning the key in stop in turn in stop in turn after doing that for about 5 mins on in off it will start. im thinking it might be the solenoid but if anyone knows anything else i would very much appreciate it. thanks.

It may be the starter or the starter relay near the batter.

So probably just replace the relay in if that don't work then just try the starter? cuz there is probably no way to test them is there? when it doesn't start in just makes the clicking noise when i hold on to the + and - jumper wires that stick out the side of the air box i can feel the clicking in the weirs that would be the relay wouldn't it? cuz if it was the starter it probably wouldn't do anything or would it? Thanks!!

If you are turning the key and it is clicking then I would say that your starter is toast or there is not enough juice to turn it over.So probably just replace the relay in if that don't work then just try the starter? cuz there is probably no way to test them is there? when it doesn't start in just makes the clicking noise when i hold on to the + and - jumper wires that stick out the side of the air box i can feel the clicking in the weirs that would be the relay wouldn't it? cuz if it was the starter it probably wouldn't do anything or would it? Maybe try giving the sled a jump start to see if it turns over. If it turns over good then maybe the battery is weak. I'm not sure if you want to boost it off a car battery though. You don't want to fry your battery. I have a 75 amp boost on my battery charger. Also maybe put the charger on it for a while to make sure its fully charged. If your weather in Maine is like ours in Vt its cold as hell and maybe the battery is weak. If you want to be sure about the battery you can also get it tested. If your battery is good then the starter might be the problem, but I would make sure you have a good battery before you do very much to it.

Also unplug the ignition switch and see if it corroded... I have seen that before too.

Go for it.
I agree that all the things mentioned above need to be checked. I actually am suspecting moisture in the starter if the solenoid does not fix it.
