There is so much info on clutching apex,s in the data base you could read for days. This question gets asked a lot by new members & your probably not gonna get a lot of replies due to the number of times it,s been answered in the past & people not willing to do a search.

try the sled first and see what you think...Then if you really want a clutch kit get in contact with Ulmer racing....Great product and great after purchase help..

I have a 06 Apex. I bought a Ulmer stage 2 clutch it. I didn't see any gains. My buddy has the same sled and we have raced many time before and after the clutch kit. The only differance is he still has $390 in his wallet

maybe your kit needs to be tweaked. Every sled is different & some kits need some adjustments to get proper rpm,s.
Put a 23 gear in it along with a Yamaha white secondary spring. It will cost you $50-60 and do more than alot of the kits out there.

I don't know what else to do to it. I have a 805 belt and the weights are 0-0-2+4 at the heel. Stock secondary spring and 1-6 spring placement. I am running 10,300 RPM when I first hit it and it climbs to 10,800 maybe 10,900. The sled feels quicker but it is the same race aginst my buddy with his Apex. He gets me out of the hole by a half sled and I pass him back at 90.

thats how i had mine, 10300 hole but only 10700 on top end maybe 10800. heelclickers though unbelievable performance
If your going corner to corner I would say the dragon fly's. If you want good fool milage and easy take off's with long belt life I would say Pioneer performance.

allmost any clutching combination can easily be tweaked to give you any characteristics that you want.
It,s all in mass placement/engagement & rate of shift that all can be easily changed.
