A little background:
-New machine to me
-1680 miles
-First time I've been on it more than 15 mins

So tonight I decided to rip around the yard a little bit and make sure everything was kosher for a few miles on the TUG this weekend. As I was pulling it into the garage, it did it's typical "I don't feel like going into reverse right now," so I shut it down, held the throttle WO (i remember someone saying this was a trick that sometimes worked for them), turned the key on, and started it. Immediately after starting, it engaged drive, and the check engine light started flashing (yellow exclamation point flashed as well) and then stopped after about 10 seconds. I didn't realize I was supposed to be looking for a code (I assume the speedo) on the dash. So now the anxiety ensues.

Now the thing starts and runs like a million bucks but the engine does rev up ever so slightly when the handlebars at the very far extreme to the left (I assume the throttle is just a tad tight). I don't think the throttle cable issue has anything to do with it but I also figured it was worth mentioning.

I think the TORS can throw a code if the throttle cable it too tight. Try letting a little more slack in the cable.

On the cable in front of the steering column. It’s under a kind of rubber boot on the cable.

ALSO: Does a TORS warning exhibit a flashing CEL?
I think it can.

It also may not have like the TPS showing wide open when it started.

I’d adjest your cable, as it sounds like it is a little tight and then I would just see if it happens again.

My brother’s Phazer will from time to time show a code relating to the TPS and I’ve never been about to find the exact problem but it doesn’t seem to cause any problems.

I went to adjust the cable tonight, and same issue. This time I was able to see code 84. I adjusted the throttle cable and it was fine. It must've been tripping when it reved up at full steering lock.
