Hey guys, as a nytro owner this site is a great resource thanks for sharing your experiences. I have an 08 121 track (studded) that is fully stock. I dont have the resources or interest in throwing $ at my sled, I bought it with the expectation that It would be a dependable cost efficient sled which so far (4th season) it has been.

I have a few issues with mine (have 4k miles on) and I wanted some input on your recommendations:

Track Ratcheting; after reading here my understanding is that a purchasing a set of extrovert drivers already pressed on a shaft for $130 is best for eliminating the ratcheting. I am not a mechanic but I am eager to learn more about my machine, this looks like a fairly easy mod, any input on the install and if this is worth it? It looks like this mod might help me get more life out of my slides. I have tried playing with the tension on the track, any input on adjusting tension to minimize ratcheting?

Suspension; should I make adjustments to the stock fox floats shocks? I ride hard, 95% trails/ditches and lake minnetonka is my access to the trail systems. Should/can I adjust the suspension to improve quality of handling/ride?

Snow packing into under body panels; I have located rubber boots that cover the steering control bar have become loose/unattached. I remedied this and am hoping that was the root of my problem. It seems like the under-body panels leave space for snow to work thru and pack into motor and clutch area. This happens with fresh loose snow conditions, especially when Im hitting powder pillows on the lake. There is aftermarket bumpers to help this, but it seems silly to modify the front end to handle deep powder conditions when the back end (121) is not designed for powder (sinks). A skid plate will not eliminate this issue either. Anybody experiencing something similar, and what remedies have you come up with?

Hand Guards; I have broken (and lost) my left hand guard several times, I assume this is while rough riding/cornering. The stock bracket is too thin and not able to withstand pressure. I love the look of the stock handguards vs the aftermarket ones ive seen, has anyone fabricated their own bracket to hold the stock guards? I am sick of spending $80 a season to replace them because the stock bracket snaps off.

My left boot/ pant leg covered in ice after riding; snow flies up the left side tunnel and cakes onto my pant leg/boot. After a few hours my boot is covered in ice, whats the best diy remedy for this?

Besides what I mentioned, what are your top recommendations for improved performance/ride quality for minimal cost? Thanks for any info, happy trails and think snow!

Grizz just did a complete run down of everything you just asked. Also, check the FAQ sticky at the top of the FX Nytro section.

Schmidt Brothers have a belt guard that cures the wet foot problem. Tuner skis and a handle bar relocate kit seems to be the inexpensive way to help your handling. Have your shocks re-valved for your weight to improve your ride.

Fett bros expansion chambers for thr fox floats allows you to run enough air pressure to be effective without a harsh ride
