Was getting my sled out of storage and cleaning it up. I noticed it was low on coolant and added several ounces. I started it up to hear it run and fired riight up. After a few minutes I noticed the coolant was low and added some more. It was not leaking anywhere. Another few minutes and a milky substance was leaking out of the airbox and noticed a hose from the oil tank was over flowing into the air box. I checked the oil and was filled to the top and no coolant in my resivor again. Any suggestions as to what is going on?? The sled is still under warranty and never had this happen before. Thanks for all your inputs to this problem.

It sounds like coolant is getting into your crankcase.More than likely headgasket or worst case a cracked case.Dont run it anymore at all.Coolant in cylinder will destroy things really fast if run.Take it to the dealer.Get a bunch of buddies to help load it up.Dont start it at all.Sorry to hear of this.Maybe try to get some pics of this so those of us going into our motors will know what to look for. Also dont allow them to put motors head back on until you look at pistons and head.Water will eat away at piston and head just like detonation.Pits all over but especially top ring land.I am glad you have warranty.Dont wait though since they are starting to get busy with the winter changeover.

X2. get that thing to the dealer. it's gotta be leaking somewhere..unfortunately.
you'll be getting you money's worth w/ warrenty.

did you bring it to your dealer yet? What's the verdict? I hope they have looked at it already to at least order parts.... colorado is getting a foot of snow today!

Thats not good it may be a rather Minor issue But I would get it looked at. Make be the Oil cooler leaking.

Never thought of that. That would probably be minor issue if no damage was done.Good one.

For sure if they take the motor apart look at the heads and pistons before they put it together. Hate to say it but dealers will do crappy work if you let them get away with it (not like that's gonna shock anyone) let us know what happens

Any update on this? Sounds like head gasket failure.

If they fixed it up for you, you should get a compression check done to make sure the engine is still within spec. Coolant is not a good lubricant!

Coolant wipes out rod and crank bearings Compresion will never be an issue. They should check the crank and rod bearing however

ya my buddy totaled his f5 cause he crimped his a-arm but hitting a stump, and it broke the coolant line, and it sprayed into his clutching, head gasket, ect and completelty totaled it... just sayin what has happend with collant leaking before lol

Yam177, I don't think you can say that for sure. It depends where the head gasket fails, how long it was run like that, and whether there was a significant loss of oil or overheating.

The pistons on my evil 1991 Toyota V6 were definitely damaged.

Also, a compression test after a few hundred miles would show whether they got metal filings/dirt in the engine/etc. Shops are not clean places.

A compression test is always a good idea, I perform one once a year on all my vehicles when i'm changing the spark plugs.

for you to have lost that amount of coolant my money is on head gasket or cracked head. And the others are correct...coolant can cause big problems.

watch this guy!
