09 Apex want to add a heater seat - What brand?

Tusk heaters switch has low and High settings so you need a relay to work with the switch. This is the one that come with the wiring harness. If you wire up directly to the battery as called out you could possibility leave your heated switch on when you shut off your sled . This in turn would drain your battery down and your sled might not start.

Ever give it any thought on wiring to 12v port? It only on when sled is running. I'm not sure what circuit can handle. Just a thought

To my knowledge, the hi-lo switch has nothing to do with the relay. On the relay, the #30 terminal can be sourced power from the battery. The #86 terminal would be tied into the wire from the main ignition switch that becomes live when the key is turned on. The purpose of the relay is to not overload the other circuits, in this case, the ignition switch. Only one relay is needed.

You need to use a relay. The 12v port is only 2amps. All the seat heater kits I have done have been 15 amps. When wired properly the relay will allow you to pull power directly from the battery but will only allow power to the seat heater when the sled is on.
Every powered acc. I have installed on my sled goes thru a relay. This is so I don't overload the factory electrical system and wires. Each feed to the relay is protected by a fuse that is rated for each acc/device.
