Becareful that your primary clutch can't close further than your secondary clutch and bring the belt up and out of the primary or rip the belt in half! Things happen fast at 120 mph and belt breaking causes a loud boom!
YES,,,this is a good point....when we did this we were very specific in trying the belt without spring,before cutting too much....I have a specific finished dimension which works perfectly to bring belt FLUSH to top of primary and NO FURTHER....
and I totally agree,IF you do primary and NOT secondary work,you are asking for troube!...Belts getting pulled too hard at 120mph and blowing apart will defintely hurt someone bad!...
I highly recommend anyone machining clutch faces Be certain you TEST and CHECK these specs before running the sled!...dont want anyone getting hurt here!...
