2200 miles on my GT and the sled only overheated ONCE when it was new and i let it sit for 1/2 an hour idling..

Once i added the 50/50 mix with watter wetter it has never over heated again..
That could be the reason why your sled is slow Welt. I remember Allen indicating that is the most important thing about a break in, is too never let it over heat within the first 30-50 miles because that is where the rings seat and if it over heats the cylinders get glazed and you will never get a good seal. Just a thought....

I think that when the temp light comes on, you are still a ways away from overheating it....

SLed had over 150 miles on it when the light came on..

Just because the light came on doesnt actually mean it reached real over heating.. and id kicked snow on the running boards and it went out right away..

Im not saying my sled isnt quick (because it is very quick) im just saying i cant get the EXTREMELY high top end numbers alot of members on here seem to brag about..... (but then again i never got over 119 on my rx warrior when everyone was braggin of over 130 on the DM.)

One time of the light coming on isn't bad. Easy to check it, do a leak down and compression check. Then you'll know if anything is wrong with the motor.

Guys, Did lots of testing today with a friends stock rtx VS my gt. I used a stalker radar gun out at 1.5 miles.Changed sec springs, windage plates, primary springs, old vs new belts, aftermart clutch kit, and even windshields. Will post results tomorrow. Its nice to live on a 30 mile lake.I promise it will be good reading.

I would love to hear the results!

2006 Apex ER. Stock motor, lowered, chiseled, .75 track, stock weights with weight added, different secondary, 25 tooth top gear, extra wheels in skid, slight tail wind, Highland Lake in Maine......several runs at 126 and 127 mph. Regularly runs 123-124. Anyone top those #s? This is my uncles sled, not mine btw.

wolfie, how can you add weight to the stock weights? Aren't they fully loaded from the factory?

I'm going by what uncle told me. He melts his own lead, and does it that way fwiw. I don't have any specific gram weights that he's using. He's a little tight lipped about that stuff.

Edit: both his clutches have been cut too.
