This is most likely my end of season report. I have ridden this sled about 1800 miles, and to be honest its the best sled that I have ever ridden. A few things though, one, the clutch noise seems to be there moreso now than it was when it was new. Another thing which I cant figure out, when I first got the sled there was no track noise or howl. Then when I got about 900 miles on it I did start to notice it at right about 50. Now this past weekend when I rode I did not notice it at 50, but at about 30, acutally the key number seemed to be 32, which came along with a very small vibration felt in the handlebars. Now I figure this could be attributed to two things, one slider wear or two track tension (there was no ratcheting) Now I did check the track and it is pretty damn loose, I mean it hangs about an inch without any pressure, so that may be the cuprit; because I looked at the sliders and they look like brand new... Not that I will get to ride again but anyone have any ideas? ALso the idilers look like new, but I havent checked them for tightness in the bearings. Thanks again guys.

Well my experience is almost like yours. 1500 miles on the sled now and absolutely love it. I have an 06 er and once you get the mono set correctly it really soaks up the bumps and rides like a dream. Idlers still look like new, and zero problems with it. Some days I have a track howl and some days I don't. It may be the snow conditions but I leaning more to ice build up. When I have no ice I have no howl. I sprayed silicone on as much of the tunnel I could before our last trip and I got very little ice on thr rear of the sled I also have a rear heat exchanger. But up towards the front where I couldn't reach I would get some ice and then the howl and vibration at around 50. Now when the ice come off no more howl or vibration. My track hangs with 1 inch of sag and I can most likely go to 3000 miles before my sliders need replaced. As to clutch noise mine seems to be just like it was when new, very little. All in all the sled is a joy to ride, corners so good and the power is right there.

I have an 05 Vector and have had the same track noise. There are other posting on this site about the noise. Replace your slides and the noise should go away. I just replaced mine about 300 miles ago and I also added some extra wheels. I have no noise since. Next time I am going to use the hyper slides.
I have a leftover '05 with the clutch fix and over the year it has gotten louder. It is almost back to normal when I last rode it. Temps went to 50 and it was real crap snow. Glad your getting good hifax wear. Mine are fine as well with similar mileage.
As for the track noise I think when I last checked there was a 17 page post. I believe it is now in the suspension section. It was diagnosed million times over and it looks like the sure fire way to get rid of it for good is a track change. I have to admit though that I never heard of icing causing it so that might be something to look for.
Best of luck.
