2003 RX-1 Mtn reverse kit

Hi guys,

I'm about to buy a reverse kit from 03 RX-1 shorty and I'd like to install it to my 2003 RX-1 Mointain.
Is there any difference between both reverse kits?

As far as I know the shorty has a 38 tooth bottom gear and the mtn is 39,and that is the only difference, Ken.

Could you tell me what that means?

I guess I can still intall it ,right?

Yes you can install it, it just means it will be geared slightly taller.

I just put a reverse from a short track in my mountain rx1 sled. I put the right lower gear in to make the ratio right. If you don't get the right gear you have to replace the chain as it is too long for the tensioner to tighten. The lower gear is a 40 tooth. I paid $100 to the gear. The gear that I got, had no bearing pressed into it so I had to press in my bearing from the other 38 gear. Good luck !!

what the guys are saying is right.I just installed rev. on my 04 rx1 mnt. the lower gear is (39 tooth) part#8fb-47587-90.No more tearing your guts out loading and unloading out of the truck.yamrx1

does anyone have a manual to install this kit..i am buying a reverse kit for my 03 mnt and if there is any installation guide available..i'd like to get one .
