CHECK VALVE CLEARANCE! Up until motor went down it ran strong and quiet. No compression on #1 cylinder. Checked timing at I mark on mag and both cams aligned at pointers. Checked valve clearance and found intakes at low side of spec and both outer exhaust valves at 3thou and 4thou, the other 4 at 6thou. #1 cyl outside valve has burnt. Exhaust cam lobe has wear marks all away around. Pulled head and checked guides. All Intakes in spec and all exhaust extremly worn out. I also noticed that 2 intake valves have been touching the pistons in the valve reliefs,WTF. The other 4 have not? I checked 2 other freinds 2006 vectors and found 1 that all valves at low side of spec and the other had all valves at low side of spec except both outside exhaust valves at 5thou. These sleds have less than 10000km.Yamaha say's that we do not need to check valves until 40000km! Valves are easy to check but hard to adjust if needed. I would check! Save time and money.
