I have a 2007 yamaha Phazer, which I really enjoy. I was riding today on the trail and it shut off on me with no warning. I did read other forums about this issue but, I am still lost. I replaced the battery and the starter relay today. I tried to start it once I did this and I have a code 11 come up on the screen. Can anyone help me with figuring this problem out? Am I missing something?

Check the grounding block on the right hand side above the battery. It's a yellow plastic block with about 5-7 wires. See if it's melted..

Thanks for the responses guys! I have done some more research and I think it might be the starter. I have that with code 11 you can turn the clutch which will rotate the motor and the code will go away. If this happens then it could be the starter. I plan on doing this later this week and testing the starter to see if that is my problem. The only concern that I have is why did it shut down while riding.

I know this probably isn't the case but I just wanna throw it out there,
Last season I was riding doing about 50mph and the sled just shut right off. No alert of it going to shut of or anything.
Ended up being that the crankshaft broke.
More than likely isnt your issue but just throwing it out there

When this happened did the key click when you went to restart it?

I did spin the clutch and I could hear compression in the pistons so, I do not think it is a broken crank at all. I will try to do some more research on this though when I go back up north this weekend.

if click you mean not crank?
It would crank it just wouldnt turn over.
Yamaha said it was the first time they have ever heard of the crank breaking.

I hope that isn't my problem. I would hate to pay that bill if I had to put a crank in. I feel it is miner but I am still sick to my stomach with it. I am normally good at finding out what is wrong but this time I am more confused then ever.
