is there any benifit to installing the yamaha harness on a 2010 yamaha phazer to make the handle bars warmer, or any way to tell if it needs it, bars are rather cold for the kids to ride sled.

rock's hot hands would cure cold hands. it is on the 09 phazer in my sig and they get hot enough.

by Rock's hot hands, do you mean the yamaheaters? Anywhere to get them in ontario? Need for my 09 Phazer too

i would have bought from crewcheif but he closed his store. i know he has others. pm rockmeister and ask for a dealer by you.

I installed the Yamaha harness on my 2007 GT. Made a world of difference. I have to turn the hand warmers down!

i installed the harness on my 2010 phazer and it made no difference and today i have my 2007 phazer gt in shop and will try the harness in it to see if it helps that one. i originally got the harness for the 07 but was hoping the 10 would benifit from the harness as well.

I'm not sure when Yamaha updated the harness on the Phazer. Maybe the 2010 already had the updated wiring?

ya thats kinda what i was after if there was a way or if anyone knew. lol

That harness was specifically for 2007 Phazers with the hook handles. It changes the warmers from connected in series to parallel. Basically changes it from 6v to each to 12v. I tried it on my MP and they got too hot. On my son's Phazer, he couldn't go higher than 2 as it would make the ECU throw a handwarmer error code and they were smoking hot even at 1 bar. It's not made for the regular bars. I'd be afraid of frying something with it.

The problem is that the ECU controls the handwarmers and reduces power when at idle or low RPM. Rock's Yamaheaters bypasses the ECU and sends full power to them. I haven't used them but a lot of people rave about it.

One thing I did was spray foam the inside of the bars which helped a little. A lower cost solution are handlebar muffs. When I had problems with my warmers due to the ground block issue, I threw the muffs on and even without warmers, my hands were toasty.

I have regular non hooked bars and the harness is great. Hot but not too hot like you have Mooseman. I usually run them at 3 bars and its comfortable. Ill run them on full in the beginning until my hands are toasty.

The other option, is new RSI two element heaters and grips. 2 different hookup options with these. One element will give you ~25% more hating watts, hooking both up will roast your hands at 3-4 bars but COULD possible over power the ECU. Running one element on my 09' gave me about 10-15* cooler "comfort" range, still need all the bars at -15*f but they keep up.
