2011/12 driveshaft & drivers vs 2008 driveshaft and driv

The 2011's come with extroverts from the factory.

From Super Trax Magazine.

"A couple of other items we left off the list was the 2011 Apex's use of a longer track and the fact it utilizes 'extrovert' drivers in the tunnel to eliminate track ratcheting."

Cool ......but I was hoping you might know if the driveshaft might fit in a'08 or if the driveshaft wouldn't fit ......if maybe the '11/'12 drivers would fit an '08 driveshaft.

Thanks,gng

Sorry.

Misread your question. :o|

No I do not know.

Look both the part numbers up on a Yami dealer site.
If they're the same number they're the same part.

Thanks .....Not sure why I didn't think of that. It stands to reason that if the drive shaft is the same the drivers will fit.

Thanks again, gng

I want to say the shaft is physically larger. I think I got my information from looking at Avids web site. I'm pretty sure they listed drivers with a larger hex shaft size for the newest sleds.

ulmerracing.com for drivers already pressed onto a new shaft for you....

different part numbers

8FA-47511-00-00 2007

8HF-47511-10-00 2012

different #'s and prices on the drivers as well.

I think the numbers and price changed as a result of a larger hex shaft but the bearing IDs, splines and length could possibly be the same. The 2011 Vector takes the new shaft as well with the extrovert drivers ....should fit an '08 ......no?

No they will not interchange the new drive shaft is longer and has a support bearing in the chaincase cover. You would have to retrofit the chaincase from the new sleds to make it fit. Your only options for stronger 06-09 shaft is micro belmont HD shaft.

Hey thanks, I was on my way to figuring that out as the bearings numbers change on the case side. Guess I'll go with the regular shaft but I need extrovert drivers and I can't find them on Ulmers sight ...any suggestions?

What the hell is wrong with these shafts?
Are they too hard or too soft steel?

I changed my '06 s as a precaution at 9000 miles because I had read of some breaking after 8000 miles. I am changing this one because I had the drive bearing let go and even though I caught it right away, the inner race spun on the shaft and even if I was to get it off I wouldn't be confident with it's integrity or dimension. I don't mind purchasing the original style shaft but I really would like to find atleast the dimensions for the extrovert drivers as I am running a fully clipped track and this would be the ideal time to add the drivers and run the track a little looser.
