5 miles to gas station. Put gas in and on the start got OP LOW message, no caution light. Would not get to clutch engagement speed to even move from pump. Shut it down and called my dealer. He suggested checking cannon plugs, re-did a bunch on the left side. Started it up and all is good. My dealer picked me up with trailer and looked everything over. The plugs I re-did had nothing to do with OP LOW. Dealer found nothing, I put on 30 miles and all ok. My fear now when's it going to happen again. Anyone have any ideas?

This would make me nervous, keep us informed as to what you find out down the road. Good Luck has anyone else experienced something like this? My new sled is still sitting in the garage, waiting for more snow.

2011 Standard Apex. About 30 miles on it just around my property (trails not open here yet).
Not a single issue, other than my face hurting when done riding from the constant smile...
Please do keep us posted.

no trouble
Se with 300 miles and let's say no problem but mono2 has same ole problem with hyfax wear with good snow conditions. Have kit coming from PP that fixed 06 RTX. Handling of this sled much different than 06(weight transfer)...one notch tighter on limiter and it is better. 45psi in front and 140 in back

Cannon plugs are multipin electrical connectors, typically round.

More of an Aviation term for multi point connection. On Aircraft they tend to be metal and have a screw on locking ring to hold them together.

Cannon plugs
Yes more of an aviation term, I guess my job had influence. Must agree the 25 miles after the glitch did keep a smile on my face, a real increase in mid-range power over my 2008 LTX. Still got some inside ski lift however so I guess thats still something we will see with the center of gravity being pretty high. Had to turn down the handwarmers, been a long time since I did that on a Yamaha. Still concerned about my problem showing up 20 miles back in the woods.

Maybe adding some dielectric grease to the plugs would not hurt either. Just an idea.

Bad gas?
A google search for "op low" yields only one relevant result.... this thread. I would have looked up the owner's manual, but the 2011 manuals aren't up yet. Is there any description in the owners manual about the meaning of that message?

It means that the engine oil pressure is low. It will either slow the rpm of the sled down slowly until it reaches an idle (if you are cruising at a higher rpm). Or it will activate an RPM limiter that will keep the sled from going above about 3000 rpm or so. If it sees low oil pressure for "X" amount of seconds it can also shut the motor off.
I have noticed at each start up of all three of our 2011 Apex's that the OP-LO comes on but if you wait about 10 seconds it goes off and all is fine.

OP-LO
Yes it does mean oil pressure low. I do see it on every start for a few seconds but on this particular start it stayed on and limited the RPM's below clutch engagement speed, obviously it protects itself.

Re: OP-LO
Follow up on this OP-LO, put 150 more miles on the last 2 days and no issues. Hope it never shows up again. Great sled, wife loves the power steering and I agree you can turn it with finger tips but best to have a good hold cause the mid-range pull is exciting.
