What parts of that 2012 kitty did they remove weight from to mask that slow reving, obsolete poor excuse for a four-stroke sled .

Now I'm interested!!! Just came back from a 200 mi ride. Slides are toast and broke 2 of my skid wheels. Not impressed. It's getting closer!!!dirkdiggler said:they better have something up there sleeve. this is bad azz!!!

A Nypex wouldn't interest me too much but it would be a cool sled never the less. Now 100-110 hp in a light weight XC sled to fill the hole between the nytro and the phazer, my kinda sled. Thumbs Up
That's been a glaring hole that they have been ignoring for YEARS. I can name at least three fellow riders who would be on Yamahas if there was a 110 hp Phazer-type sled.[/quote]

x2 sure the phazer is the funnest sled i have ever ridden but it misses that grunt once you are already going 60mph.

If top speed matters that much to ya just pull a Wile Coyote and strap a rocket motor to a wash tub. That should get ya just about as far as your average arctic cat before it falls apart.
Seriously though, I liked AC in the days of the ZRs but Yamaha needs a competitors sled to push them forward. Sadly, what's pictured above isn't it.

Hate to play devil's advocate, but....The 1100 turbo with a boondocker and meth kit is nothing short of amazing, and waaay cheaper than boosting a yamaha. Heard they knocked off 60-75lbs off the turbo in this new chassis. Can you say trail rocket? Don't get me wrong, I am a yamaha guy, but... The nytro takes way to much effort to corner with comparable "rough trail" sleds. The apex xtx I believe is the most well balanced sled yamaha makes right know, but it isn't rider forward enough for me and feels like a tank after putting some miles on a crossfire 800ho.

Is that all Yamaha people have left to hang onto? I've been talking about how great Yamaha's are for years. Then you look at it deeper and you find Crappy hand warmers, crappy wheels, Hyfax issues, Front ends that need after market bushings, W arms that busted for years, Poor rings in the 2003 RX-1, Bad cranks in the 1998/1999 srx, Timing chains that bust in the vector motor, ball joints that wear out,Exhaust donuts that wear out every 2000 miles and last but not least Nytro bulk heads that bend at the slightest wrong hit.
So you can laugh at the other oems all you want But Yamaha is not without fault. I've turned a blind eye and bought 12 new Yamaha's since 1998. I've been the most loyal Yamaha guy out there.
That picture of the cat is pretty but I don't think I could give up the fit/finish of a Yamaha for a Cat. Every one I've looked at up close just looks so cheap.
