I'd like to see a kids sled also but i'm guessing Yami has researched this in the past and know the market share would be break even at best.
I'd also like to see something around 500lbs and 160hp out of the box. Then with the simple addition of airbox mods, exhaust, and plugs you're around 170-175hp.

I have been waiting for 3 years for that.... Not sure if it will happen.

I hear ya! I've been on Yami since 1992 and I just don't think its coming. Maybe Yami is ok with middle of the pack in HP because lord knows we are still buying them :o|

My wish list for the new apex would be : a smarter gauge pod with recall for max rpm, max speed, and a real time digital temperature gauge, along with less weight and more HP. How about an optional factory turbo to get us to a reliable 200-225 HP. Also fix the speedo reading so it isn,t the laughing stock of all snowmobilers. Why give the other brand loyalists something to bash Yamaha about ? Yamaha makes a great product, try and eliminate things like that that aren,t right, and everyone knows. :yam:

Look at your Apexes. Where are they going to lose a bunch of weight? The heaviest component is the engine. The only way they can make a significant weight reduction is to change the engine. After that there are other components that could be lightened up accordingly. The only way that is currently feasable is for Yammi to develop a completely new smaller displacement, smaller dimensioned, and of course lighter engine. To make the power we are used to it would have to be factory turboed or supercharged. Until they do that we are going to have our 650 lb sleds with BNG for many years to come. I am not holding my breath.

I know how to make your guys sled's go faster and wont cost you anything it will actually put money in your pocket.......Put yourself on a diet lol

Would love to see Yami finally buy out the patent Cat has on it's "Quiet track" from camoplast. Then we could finally see the end to the deafening Track Howl noise issue.

Pretty sure the VK540III and Bravo will be gone in 2012(in the U.S market). We may see the new apex skis on more models.Powersteering may appear on a vector model. For sure we will see decals with 10 years of four-strokes.(its 10years already, time fllies when your having fun on a yami :yam: )

Better yet buy Cat's adjustable handle bars best in the biz should be on all Oems sleds. Got to hand it to AC for that design simple & works slick as hell.

I also think a 100hp phazer is something yamaha should think about. i would buy a 100hp phazer rtx any day of the week as long as it rides the same. they can do this.

I'd like to see a 100-112 hp middle of range sled with in the phazer/nytro chassis as well. The super tenere twin should fit but I have no idea what the engine weight would be.
I like my 06 nytro but would give up 20hp for 50lbs less weight.

Yamaha needs to dump the ripsaw as well. I have a 1.25 predator 6 pitch on my Nytro this year and it's a completely different sled!!!! It pulls so hard no my arms get sore!!!

In Norway and Sweden all Nytro (not mtx) and all Apex have the camoplast back country track.

I lost 50lbs and didn't picK up a single MPH
:jump:

Depending on how well the little 60hp 600cc skidoo sells we might end up seeing the Phazer split into 2 models. The current phazer makes 65hp at 8000 rpm so the could build a cheaper, lighter, non gear deduction sled to compete there. Also with the Phazer being the oldest 4 stroke in the lineup I expect a warmed over version to show up, maybe a bump in displacement, a new 4 valve head to replace the 5 valve, and around 100hp. Same chassis and lighter Phazer = 65hp Exicter = 100hp

They may come out with a new chassis design--this ones getting dated, not that its poor--change happens in time..a new chassis that would better balance the sled with all this>>Engine, and weight.Yamaha will come out with a new, better chassis in time.its probably in the works right now. :rules

A 4 valve head seems logical. Yamaha is getting away from the 5 valve design. I would love to see a 90-100hp Phazer in an updated chassis. With the right track and some tuning, that would be an awesome sled!

Some yammi tech said once that the phazer motor barely passed yamahas strict standards in the vibration and harmonics department. maybe there is no future in that 500cc twin.

True story? Who knows but thats what this thread is all about isnt it.
