I had a tall windshield installed on my new sled last spring and both times I rode it the front of it came unhooked from under the headlight causing it to fold down. Dealer told me to loosen all parts under the headlight and dash and adjust them to give that piece that the windshield attaches to a tighter fit which I did. I took the whole top of the sled apart. Then this summer I took the cover off to charge the batt and it had popped out again from the pressure of the cover. I can't see an obvious solution because everything flexes so much in the dash/windshield assembly. Any ideas? This really bugs me on a $13000 sled.

Does your windshield have the braces ??

Yes, it has the 2 little plastic braces at the bottom. The windshield isn't the actual piece that pops out its the black plastic piece (dash panel?)that the windshield screws to. It goes over the headlight and locks under the very front of the headlight. That's what keeps popping out. I'll posts pics later.

I have put it back together multiple times including disassembling the entire top of the sled, inspecting every piece, then putting it back together correctly. You can snap it back in. The pressure from the cover being on it will pop it out, the pressure from the wind pops it out. I've owned dozens of sleds and worked on them all but this stumps me.

I've experienced the same thing... I added a small piece of steel on the underside of the plastic nose so that it gives the nose more curve, thus giving it more gripping power.
It helps some, but on occasion it still pops out.

A suggestion might be to use a heat gun and give the plastic nose more curve.I don't have any pics of what I did... It would have helped to better explain it, sorry.

If you come up with a better solution, provide us with details.

Had that problem from day one with 4 2011-2014 apexs, simply get a set of the metal bars that the older apex tall windshields used and install. Easy and cheap fix. I dont know how anyone gets this set up to work without them.

Do you have a part number? Where do the metal bars go? Should I just go to a medium windshield?

Here is how it came from the dealer. It has 4 plastic braces.

So you guys are running that ginormous windmilled... then yes you will need the back braces.

Should I take that tall one off and run a medium? I had a medium on my warrior but it was sometimes cold so I opted for a tall one on my new xtx but now I have this problem. Is a medium adequate on a xtx for zero or below?
